Now that Alpine is out there I have tried some LRM configurations... not easy AT ALL.
People who call them the easy button have clearly not actually tried to make them effective in the current environment. On most maps I can get maybe 100 damage (of 324 max) per ton of ammo. For a single LRM15, that is 60 seconds of continuous fire.. effectively 1.6 DPS. For the bulk of the maps I have to be my own spotter which leaves my center torso wide open to sniper fire. Nope, I've got new respect for an LRM pilot who can land them.

Exactly what I've been saying to those "it's easy mode" people. Looks like I have someone get what I'm saying.
Happy you gave them a try yourself. Shouldn't say how easy it is unless you try it yourself, right?

You can use this link if you wish to redirect italian users to translation: http://mwomercs.com/...99uso-corretto/ (I suggest you could link it in first topic before text and I hope other users will translate this in other languages)
Thanks!

Honestly, this guide just came about from me getting tired of hearing "LRMs are skilzles and easymode". I still feel that they can be easy, but they aren't that easy to use at the same time...

For those who say taking TAG is pointless, I wholeheartedly disagree. I have on occasion seen an ECM scout and been able to paint it with TAG, and keep the tag on long enough for my lrms to dissolve his armor. If even one salvo hits, he is that much closer to no longer being a threat. Also, I don't like having TAG on 24/7. If I am moving with my ECM Atlas, having a TAG on 24/7 is like a beacon that lights can follow in to find us. To each his own on TAG.

Funny how that has never really gone away isn't it?
Even when LRM were one of the 'weakest' and most "worthless" weapons - people would still whine about it.
Perhaps go back and bullet point each item?
There is an option to do that in the text editor, next to the Bold/Italics/Underline set.

It's always there, even when LRMs were considered so bad that "I count them as DCed" by many people's own statements...
I've heard that just about anything (but what the person liked, mind) was skill-less...
Yes. I think I will. (Only thing I don't like about that is it kinda bolds or makes the text more white...)

Having it in a big blob is better though?
Could manually point it - but that takes a fair amount for effort.
IE:
1)
2)
Even putting spaces between each point would do a lot to reduce the WOT effect.

Fixed. Looks a little nicer now.
Unfollowed and refollowed. I'll see if that works better.

IT WORKS!!!! I got the notification, so it worked.
Thanks. Is it really a guide? This was more so just to prove that LRMs do require skill to use really...

LRM do not always equal death - but they are almost always good for doom.
note: great liberties taken with the definition of doom
What? haven't you been reading the forums lately? Them LRMs bring death to everyone!
