When Riot Games released the much awaited Pulsefire Ezreal skin, they planned to sell it at a higher cost than the usual price for a legendary skin because of the greater than usual set of cosmetic features it had (e.g. changing its appearance as you levelled up, extra voice over work etc). The way they did this was that in the first week of its sale, they reduced its cost to slightly *lower* than the cost of an average legendary, and then bumped the price up afterwards.
Perhaps PGI could do the same thing - give a slight discount to expensive hero mechs in the first week, and then bump up the price. This would probably give players a greater incentive to buy the mech than they usually might have because of the increase in the Mech's perceived value.

This could be something they might do in the future, PGI seems to be experimenting with different kinds of sales and promotions right now (double xp weekend, Dragon sale, we'll see what's next).
The issue is that 75MC per ton is fair for smaller mechs like the DK and the Wang, but the heaviest mech is five times the size, and therefore five times the price (comparing a theoretical future hero Flea to a hero Atlas for the most extreme example). If every weight class is meant to be viable, the disparity in cost seems a little imbalanced.

Agreed, especially because the actual "worth" of a Mech in terms of contribution to a team is not necessarily dictated by its tonnage. Since there is no way to exchange MC to CB or vice versa, there need not be a direct link between the MC and CB cost of a Mech.
