On a fast look i didnt find this topic so i started a new one. Since Betty is in the Game there were several issues with sound just disappearing, cracking and stuff like that. Yesterday i was teamed up with some LRM Carriers and as they started their heavy avalanche of LRMs my complete Ingame sound just said bye bye. I was able to reproduce this thing serveral times, each time multiple LRMs were launched close to me my sound keeps crashing to complete silence.

If this is a known issue, delete it, if not, hope u read it

I had never had sound problems before, (i heard many complains about crackling and such before, but never had encountered that on my system) but since the last patch i get many sound breaks.

It is very often when playing my (fun) LRM boat -> Atlas D-DC 3x15 LRM Artemis
AND when an Auto-Cannon is fired nearby. I guess its on of the big ACs, 10 or 20.
When the sounds are triggered together with the LRM, then suddenly all sounds are muted, even the announcements are off, for approx 1-2 seconds.

I looked into the sound files, and it seems that not all FX samples have the same frequency/bitrate !?

It's all about frequency saturation. Instead of taking each sound and running narrow band processing on them they implemented a hard limiter for when more and more sounds pile up.

ik
that was a ... hint hint...
a proper sfx policy should be erected... live re-sampling in a game sometimes causes problems...

just so everyone's clear, the sound crackling that some people have (including me) since BB and the audio cuts with heavy LRM fire are 2 different issues.

I have been having this issue too. It's not always happening but it is common.

I'm actually fairly certain they are the same issue being that hard limiting is how they decided to try to deal with the audio saturation.
