Why does it take so long to get your mech back from a game? Never have played a game where you have to wait for 30 seconds to be able to play again...

It's leftover coding from when the game had to assess damage and repairs to mechs.
It hasn't been removed since that stuff is all coming back later on.

The mechanics have to replace the engine, repair all your busted up guns, weld on new armor plating and repaint the mech and your complaining about 30 seconds?
The truth is that it is holding all the mechs until they all release from the end-of-round summary screen, it probably has something to do with the server authorative stuff I know not as much as I wish about.

the mech becomes unlocked after ALL clients are out of the match and the server declares it as "match" over... if someone stays in the end of match screen until he gets thrown out by the game, it takes a while for you, if you quitted that screen manually...
