As per the thread title, are we going to see a Ballistics centered Assault platform? it seems like ballistics are lacking on the current assaults, and looking at the variants of the highlander, it seems like that too will be a spread hard-point mech similar to the atlas.

Or would a mech like the annihilator be considered too risky to implement cause of the risk of it becoming the new gaussapult/splatapult with more armor and survivability?

I would like to see what the rest of the community thinks about getting a ballistics assault

Annihilator could technically come around, also there was a ISN article on the Devastator some time ago which sports dual gauss in its base config. Perhaps the Victor may also be ballistic heavy in one of its variants?

Mauler has four ballistic slots, two missiles slots, and two energy slots. It'd be great for the ballistic boat role, and the location of the slots means it wouldn't be able to boat more than two gauss.

I vote Mauler too, but not necessarily for it's ballistic boat-ability, though it would no doubt be a beast with that.
