If I have 4 srms across 4 hard points with 10/6/6/10 tubes respectively, why is it that I have two distinct volleys when all four are on the same weapon group? I would have expected a single volley of 24 but instead get 2 volleys or 12 each. Not the end of the world, but annoying.
What am I missing?

Also, some mechs have specific quirks.
For example, did you know the Raven 3L's left most missile pod shoots only one missile at a time? Meaning if you have an srm six on it's right and left torsos, one will shoot out all 6 missiles at once, the other will shoot out one at a time in succession.
The more you know!

I love running around with an SRM-6 in the CT of my COM-1B - it has only 2 tubes, so the SRM-6 launches in three volleys, Woosh-wooosh-wooosh!

It's based on the physical modelling of the 'mech.
For instance. The Model of the Jenner-D has a 4 port SRM on its back. If you put an SRM6 there, it will fire in 2 volleys, 4 missles then 2.
The Raven with the Narc attachment shows only 1 physical "barrel". Thus any missle weapon you put there is going to come out in a stream of 1 missle at a time.
Try attaching an LRM15 there . It takes forever to fire .... and is a fairly impressive line of missles.
Cheers.

I think the different launching volleys are a neat little variance on missile loadouts.
