I know people have state all over the place in the past that they'd love to see some shirts made up for MWO. I've come up with an idea for some simple, faction-specific shirts. I'd love to wear a Steiner shirt and be free advertising for the game! :D I personally like wearing shirts with unique and off center designs, my idea would be to have the faction logo in a distressed fashion on the left chest/sleeve that wraps around under the arm a bit and onto the back. The house name would wrap around the side of the body. Anyway, here are a couple of my ideas:

*NOTE: I would have liked to use the official MWO art for the logos, but I couldn't find a non-cropped version. Just use your imagination...

You could even do one for Mercs or Lonewolves too...

If by chance PGI is looking, feel free to use my ideas to pitch to jinx or whomever else. I'd gladly take some MC as payment for my designs! :)

Unfortunately we talked to Russ when were were at the nvidia campus.they can't legally sell merchandise as topps owns merchandising rights to anything that has to do with battletech. We would need topps to get onboard with something as fantastic as this. I would love the kurita shirt.if by chance you get something going Let me know. And actually get in contact with topps and see if you get a response. Prosperity had a product he pitched to Russ during our meetup so we discussed how it were to work.

Topps owns the merchandising rights? The hell's the point of owning the rights to something if you don't do anything with it o_O

Love the shirt concepts though. I'd personally love to see some ball caps. I'd buy one.

That would probably explain why we have not seen official shirts yet. I understand not being able to use anything from Classic Battletech, but I'm a little surprised that MWO couldn't design and sell shirts that used their own MWO mech designs and iconography. (since both have been altered from the originals)

Bummer, but I guess this is now out there if an option ever does become available...

I'd buy a whole wardrobe of these! Awesome designs, really sucks about the whole Copyright/'owning' thing...
I'd love to see a FRR one, black base with the logo on it and done up like you got it. ^^ Be sick. Maybe one day...

I was thinking if you get in touch with Ryan O'hara and have a complete design portfolio it might get the ball rolling into re-initializing the Battletech merchandising license. support@topps.com attn:Ryan O'hara

PS:Ryan O'Hara is the CEO of Topps

PS#2: I'm guessing PGI or IGP Don't have anyone working on marketing anything other than just the games so if you can get people together in designing some merchandise you might be able to get everyone envolved. Be nice if you can get a cut and be a part of MWO officially

Thanks, Ace. I'll set aside some time this weekend to design up shirts for the remaining factions, then shoot him an email and see what happens... I don't expect much of anything, but you never know!

In regards to your PS#2, I would think PGI/IGP would have some sort of legal team that has brought up this merchandising/IP issue to the right people. Either way, I'll give it a shot!

Any Progress on Shirts? I'm really excited to see what more you come up with. In the End although an expense if IGP/PGI like them they could give them out for special events and such. They are not allowed to sell but would be a great marketing tool. Kind of like our Atlas shirts from the Nvidia Event.
