Can we get an official feedback thread for this too? I would like someone to post a reply that encompasses all of the issues we have all discussed and puts forward a balancing suggestion for testing, so that we can all click our like buttons and make the devs see it by virtue of glowy yellow text. Thanks.

Issue: Is the new MG crit-seeking ability enough to make them worthwhile despite their extremely low damage and range?
My opinion and the opinion I've seen most often: No it isn't.
Solution: PGI should test increasing the damage of MGs and/or increasing rate of fire.
My opinion: Let's try increasing damage by 50%-100% and go from there.
Alternate option: Remove crit-seeking ability and give same DPS as small laser.

I vote for this, but not the same DPS, but similar since it is ammo based/0 Heat and Ballistic-Based
.8 Damage
0.625 Cool Down
200 Ammo
or
.6 Damage
.4 Cool Down
400 Ammo
Also, while the MG is getting attention (or rather has been a hot topic for a very long time, since last year in Closed Beta), these are all the major niche/useless weapons/equipment; MG, Flamer, NARC, LB-X

I agree on all counts! Especially about other weapons needing help too. I don't see the small laser approach as a solution itself, but since it's a weapon with similar stats I think it's a good starting point.
