Hi i am new to this game and i like it alot. I have recently earned enough c-bills to buy a couple mechs and i am ready to start redesigning. I have heard that you can switch equipment from mech to mech. I have been afraid to try because i removed a small laser to add an anti-missle system and when i removed the laser it dissappeared (i think?)
and on top of that i cant seem to get the anti-missle system to work.

Can anyone help me figure out what im doing wrong or direct me to a post that covers these topics?

Any help appreciated
Thanks in advance

First, your laser is likely in the parts store and not lost. You can add it back with no charge. You'll see little numbers next to the "qty" for each part. Numbers greater than zero mean you have some available.

Anti-Missile Systems require ammunition. Make sure you've added AMS Ammo to you mech or the system won't work.

All weapon and equipment can be removed from a mech and placed elsewhere. When you remove an item it goes into your inventory for safe keeping.

note that all weapons and most equipment (such as AMS) can only be placed in a specific section of a mech that contains a matching HARDPOINT.

This is the mechlab training video, so start with this: https://www.youtube....d&v=EDKDAyEHr1Q

Ok i purchased the hunchback HBK-4P

I removed 1 med laser and a small laser
and added AMS and AMS ammo. It says the tonnage is correct5 and let me save the changes but i cant drop into a game. It says Invalid loadout-hardpoint limitation.

I dont understand what i did wrong. I added the AMS to the correct hardpoint slot. Forgive my ignorance

Could be a glitch - try to restart the client.

Edit: also make sure you added AMS to the side torso that has AMS hardpoint.

OR the AMS was placed in a location where the AMS cannot go. Each mech has a series of hard points which have to be abided by. Hard points come in the following flavors: AMS, Ballistic, Energy, and Missile. Finally, only specific mechs can equip the Guardian ECM suite.

Of course, I recommend looking at Skunkworks to pre-design your loadout to save on c-bills.

Well, you can't put items in the wrong spot, the game won't let you. The only time I had a vague error like that is when I didn't have enough heatsinks on the mech (you have to save it, then look at it in the main hanger window.. you need 10 at a minimum to launch the mech).

Use http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab to build out mechs before you mess around in the mech lab in game.. on the left of that web based builder, it will tell you how many heatsinks you have and will be red if you have less than 10. This site also helps you know when you need endo steel or double heatsinks or ferro armor to fit your build, so you don't get lost in the mech lab in game (you might have to pay for certain upgrades before you can fit the gear you want). Also, the total price is listed, as configured, so you can save up enough to build the whole thing at once once you buy it. I've been re-using engines, so I take those off the smurfy build to see what I need to save up for that rig, since engines are damned expensive and I don't like owning the same one 4 times over :D

Which is exactly why I picked this name.. one time, long long ago, in PlanetSide, I made a toon called CmdrPoopyPants just to run a different skill tree (sniping instead of flying vehicles that my main was more focused on). One day in chat someone said "there's nothing more embarassing than being killed by someone called poopy pants"; I got quite a chuckle out of that so here I am ;)
