Hammer, I think you made a mistake and I think you should try this run again.

Your mistake is the jenner. You should try this run with a heavy mech. let me explain:

As far as matchmaking is explained, the classes of mechs are added up to a similar extend. So when you are featuring a light mech, the other team gets a light mech. This one may or may not have ECM. When you re featuring a light mech without ECM, the chances of another light mech, this time with ECM perticipating are slimmed. It´s like you are trying to count how many people are fitting into an elevator while you are blocking the door.
So, when you play a jenner, you may block ravens, commandos and spiders with ecm.
When you are playing a medium you might block a cicada with ecm
when you are playing a assault you may be blocking a DDC.
The only mech class that is unaffected is the heavy chassis, that´s why this is important.

I made some expiriences as well and I was counting the number of ECM modules each game. the numbers were slightly higher then yours in 2 occasions:
- me playing a 3L-Raven
- me playing a Cataphract.

please reconsider your results. Although I must say, your efford has to be appriciated.

No matter what mech you run you will always influence the results. If I ran a heavy that means the other team has a heavy. By playing a heavy only I'd actually be decreasing by default the number of ECM mechs because now theres a 7/8 chance of an ECM mech on either side rather than the 8/8 on the enemy team and 7/8 on my own by running a light or an assault without ECM.

As the numbers were supposed to show the chance of success for a team with a greater amount of ECM, my particular mech doesn't really change anything (if I ran a 3L exclusively it would just mean for the other team to have more they would need two ECM mechs instead).

And where are the premades now who told us that 4 man groups have no impact on a match or can not decide it...? :(

Not sure why anyone is surprised by these figures. Most players will gravitate to whatever the latest OP build is. Artemis death rain and now there's ECM. Light ECM pilots with SSRMs and lagshields were the easiest mech to play, survive and get kills. Now that the lagshield is going away of course we'll see people gravitate to the DDC as it's one of the better Atlas/Assaults and it has ECM so you still get it's OP effects.

As for Pre-mades and the comment I quoted, not sure why anyone would ever say that. The rule in almost any game I've played online has always been a coordinated team with equal and even less skill will always win over lonewolfs. The fact that that 85% isn't actually higher is surprising to me. Must be some bad players in those pre-mades.

What I do have issue with is why PGI would ever cater to the Lonewolf mentality over team based play. I don't see any other games online preventing players from grouping and playing on comms together. The only difference is most FPS are hacked and there's a very high % of players that use those hacks so they can actually make a difference as solo players versus this where there are very few insta-kills headshots and no hacks that I know of.

They need to finish content and fix major issues like ECM or the continued trend of players leaving the game and waiting for further releases will continue. As is I see way too many of the same faces over and over in matches I play and our unit participation has dropped big time.

I think it might be more the composition of the pre-mades or even more likely the rest of their team. Trials and poor pugs can also account for losses. And as in two(?) of the cases, having a DC on your team can hamper even premades dominance.
