catapult and awesome should get 1.5x HP on internals, while the stalker should be reduced to 0.8

this would be a nice way to balance some mechs but without messing with the current meta

the centurion for example takes way too much damage as it is, and the salker soaks around 50% of the damage when hit on a destroyed ST because they don't fall off on that mech.
so yeah.

this is a way better route to take as to game balance than the accumulative heat penalties you guys are preparing to implement

in fact, lights should all be upped so that 6ppc wont insta kill, just up to that point.

mechs like the atlas and jager would retain their actual internals HP from now.

theres no need to rebalance the weapons then from what they are.
AND there's the added bonus you can put 80% internals HP on the clan mechs, and BAM! balance. just like that.

the splat cat would make a return as a less gimmicky build, the ac40 jager would retain it's damage, rate of fire and heat.
the ppc stalker needen't change!

no external armor values would change, and players would be unaware of what their internals are, just like they are right now.
so there would be no need to further mess with the mechbay related items. lets stray away from that approach, maybe even undo some changes that were done to missiles.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on that.

It is the weapons that need to be balanced not the mechs.

First of all. 6 PPCs all hitting a light in the same spot at the same time should by any means be leathal. Anything else would be stupid.
But a mech carrying 6 PPCs should be as good as impossible in the first place.

It should be unattractive and reasonably hard to play monobuilds. You got the PPC-Stalkers, the Makro-Jaegers and things like that that should be eliminated. But nerfing their internal structure is not the way to do that.

In my opinion every weapon from the second or third one should get a heat penalty when fired simultaniously which increases with every additional weapon. And on top of going into shutdown should very likly destroy your mech. Shutdown override should also get an at least 30% chance to blow you up when you fire your weapons before your heat is below 80% again.

That would be my idea of balancing. Stalkers are not evil. It is their ability to savely fire 6 (normal) PPCs up to 4 times (using only 1 coolshot) before going into shutdown which is not harmful to them as there will pretty much be nothing alive around them to shoot them then. That makes them a little unbalanced.
