I honestly dont really care to much for operating tanks and planes in a MW game.(Though it can be fun)
That said, I would rather them implement this in a PVE mode at a later date. Be able to launch missions against AI, or even just add AI tanks and planes on both sides as teammates or something. They can play the same role they did in all other MW games.
Possible Expansions?

We'd love to see it, yeah. We'll probably get "Paul's Pink Pirate Posse Invades Magistry of Canopus Plunders Periphery" first.

I think at some point adding in aerospace fighters and tanks and what not, could be a good thing, IF done right. I mean after all, they are part of TT and make appearances in various MW games.

I read these and other comments and I realize far to many people are missing a major point of MWO./.. It is not your normal PC war game.. It is a true wargame. Every battle effects the Universe and the Houses... It isn;t just a do this battle and what happens has no meaning like in WoT.. Everything I have read from them it is more like the CLan Wars part of WoT or even like WWIIOL without a map rset after a side wins.. Since there are 5 major sides plau the smaller ones...

Maybe, eventually.... but Mech combat is and should be the core of the game.
It would be nice - but not necessary - if Aerotech or other BT ground units could eventually be added, maybe in an auxiliary role; providing some air support, scouting, or increasing your field of vision..... Or to harass and distract your adversaries, sort of like the Aerospace fighters for hire in MW2:Mercs.
I think it could help flesh out the BT universe a bit more... but, again, only after the fundamentals of Mech combat are worked out and balanced.
