Hey guys.. just wondering how/where we get screen caps in game. I pressed "print screen" at the end of my last match because it was a screen I'd like to have kept.. but I can't find it and pasting from the clip board is just giving me a black screen.

Any tips? I really wanted to save that last match end screen :)

you need a third party software like fraps,
record the game and print screen from recording.

only way atm all screen caps you see here are done like this

sorry not much help i know :(

Now for the next question.. how do I put a picture in a post? Every time I try pasting one in, I get an error saying I have to add a post :(

Full windowed mode
alt+PrtScn

That works.

You can use Fraps to save screen shots.

If you play in full screen mode and you press print screen you can post it into a word document and then copy it from there to paint or what ever. It has worked for me in the past.

Really? Thanks.

Also the TS3 has an overly which allows one to take quick print screens.... except, for me, the overly function occasionally crashed my MWO (which sucks balls).

actually, printscreen does not work.. not for me, I get a black screen and nothing more. I tried alt+printscreen too, to no avail. However, pressing alt+enter to make the game windowed, then pressing alt+printscreen (only snaps the active window where just printscreen does the whole screen) puts the window's content on the clipboard. In my case, I just want to capture my top rankings so I'm only capping the end of match screen.

Odd. Prt Scrn works fine for me.

win7 64bit, 1900x1200 fullscreen (not windowed!). I just paste the image into paintshop pro.

I suggest FRAPS, as it lets you take screenshots with the free version. Videos are limited to 30sec captures, though.

There are 2 full screen modes, windowed and true full screen. Far as I know PrtSc only works with windowed mode.

FYI, some graphic utility applications like MSI's Afterburner, RadeonPro, etc allow you to take screen shots. RadeonPro 1.1.1.0 preview even has a basic built in video capture tool which works just fine.

As far as uploading the images before posting them is concerned, I recommend Puush - it's a little app that sits in your system tray and makes it very easy and smooth to capture and upload images (by window, area, clipboard, file...). Click a button, and within a few seconds you'll have a link in your clipboard to the URL of the image.

A free alternative is the program MSI Afterburner. I've found it to be much better for recording game footage. I'm having an issue with it splitting my audio channels between game sound and my microphone. Found out I can tell it to mix the audio streams, but it echoes and glitches. >.<;

This video was recorded using it (but as you can tell, what I'm saying isn't here with the mic clicks).

Audio issues aside, it can easily take screenshots. Just set it up under "Settings" and "Screenshots."

It also gives information on video card usage, advanced controls, etc.
