Didn't care for the lack of depth and lack of tactical options in the game (heal bots...really?).
I like the gritty militaristic aesthetics and the HUD (the targeting reticle looks like something that might be found in an F-16), as well as the dramatic dystopic maps, but that's about it.
Think I'll be sticking with MWO.

You think the ability to repair your bot while in combat (with the caveat that you're more vulnerable) is a LACK of tactical options?
I think there's plenty of depth and tactical options in Hawken, perhaps you did not play enough to discover said depth. My main beef with Hawken is the grind.

oh definitely. Think "do I want to play SSRM ez mode or AC/20 cat ez mode, or SRM cat ez mode?".
Lots to think about. then there's the thought required to push the launch button, then the thought required to accelerate so you can go to the enemy and Brawl it out. Then there's the thought required in Lasers and PPCs and even some ballistics being hugely nerfed via double armor and double heat, leading one to think "hmm, I could cheese and be effective, or I could take bad weapon systems (which they are going to mess up even more by tweaking individual weapons) and die all over the place".
Yep, lots of thinking involved.

Whoops...sorry..guess you're right. I was mainly thinking about how much more awesome MW:O is compared to Hawken.

Yes. Indeed. It means damage means nothing in Hawken. Tactical "hit and run" strikes mean nothing...therefore attrition tactics are pretty much null and void. Specific damage to critical areas on mechs means NOTHING....so...legging your enemy to slow them down or stripping away their weapons is not possible. Ammo? Yeah...it's infinite. LAME.
There's nothing in the game that promotes tactical use of anything, except leveling up and hoping your enemy is lower level than you and that you can catch them out in the open just as they are spawning back into the match...the same match that you've been farming them from for the last 10 minutes. The ability to strafe does not count as "tactical" options.
Hawken is basically cheap, silly thrills...no thinking required at all. FUN...but by no means engaging beyond a quick casual level.
