I think it would be great to have full range of motion for arms when firing at targets far to your side. As a fairly new dragon pilot, I miss the ability possessed in the fiction and in tabletop to drive directly away from a target, but twist the torso and fire on the target to your immediate rear with the single arm that is on the side of your body closest to the opponent, and make meaningful use of even small amounts of increased speed over your foe.
I realise that arms are limited so that both arms will fire on a target and that your body crosshair will always be the center of your view, but perhaps you could add an 'advanced mode' which will allow the arms to stretch even further still, detaching your view so that it is not slaved to the body crosshair, allowing you to look out the side of your cockpit and fire with the one arm that has a line-of-sight on the target.

i guess this depends on the Mech. In a comando you nearly got this, i am not sure if your 2nd arm will hit there too, but you can shoot nearly behind you with max torso twist and arms pullt max in this direction. If your arms can only go so far as both can do, this should be changed, but even with a lot of matches i dont know if it is the case.

Thanks for your post Antarius. I have only used the trial mechs (spider is the light mech) and my dragon. I did not know that different chassis could have different abilities to twist. I really hope they add the feature I am suggesting though. It would be more fun and more true to the dragon's abilities to have the ability to disengage while still firing the autocannon (or laser, if I'm twisting the other way) immediately behind me.

yes would be nice. At least they gave the first time in a MW, Arm-weapons a benefit over torso, to extends this bonus with single arm movement further than both together would be quite nice, would have to change some weapongroups more arm-like but would be nice

Do you get a wider range of movement with your arm if your free-look (CTRL and mouse)?
Will have to try that in my Centurion.

Just tried it. No further range of movement beyond the normal arm range.
Pity.
