Oh, dear holy mother of crap... :D It's armored with tissue paper!

Every Assault mech pilot ever (minus 6 PPC Stalkers) - "Oh, look at the catapult out there, he's probably going to scratch my paint a little bit with missiles, let's do the torso twist and tickle him with my large lasers while I go deal with these brawlers rushing me. Oh look, he's firing missiles--oh good lord that is a big cloud AUGH WHAT IS THAT MY ARMOR MY ARMOR!"

The biggest downside isn't actually the armor, it's the fact that I teamkill friendly scouts with 162 damage carpet bombs about every other match. My friends have mostly learned what a safe tagging distance is without getting too far away and dying to the mech they're circling instead... It's honestly worse in the teamkill department than trying to fire into a melee with my triple Gauss Ilya D:

Question. How did you fit everything on there. I can't seem to find a spot for the 7th ton of srm ammo.

As a fellow Splatapult pilot, i must first say nice job. Follow up by you can do better.
First off, you ran out of ammo, never let that happen. Jump jets might be fun and all, but what they actually doing??? Get some extra ammo.

Second, i noticed you play Frozen City alot. Use this map to your advantage. Always flank cave and as long as there team is not guarding there, push. Otherwise fall back. You will almost always win if they fall back. Or you just one shot there whole team in the back.
I have personally got 7 kill's, and 1600+ damage because the enemy all had XL engines and i am for the side ;) on Frozen city. Guard your flank you it will get penetrated :P

I must say, nice job killing the bugs. Lights don't seem to learn they go boom if i aim at them. Lag shield does not effect SRMs. (Ravens can be a problem some times do to there broken hitbox).

Overall, nice video. Good piloting and hope to see better.

Fixed for the accuracy. Any halfway decent Assault pilot will recognize that SRM cats be the priority threat.
When faced with both an Atlas & a SRM cat with equal chance of hitting either, me will target the cat first as that will diminish the enemy firepower much faster than targeting the Atlas would.
Even under ECM cover, A1 SRM catapults be extremely obvious.
1) They run fast.
2) They aren't shooting LRMs.
3) Box arms.

A: Depending on what the rest of the pubs in me team be running, if me has snipers me ask them to target the catapult, even if they miss vitals and hit arms, it'll make it that much easier for me to blow off myself when they get close. (They had better be targeting the Catapult as snipers are usually Heavy mechs themselves.)
If me has LRMs, me ask them to target it LRMs be super effective against SRM cats as they need all their parts to function properly. (Apparently most SRM cats are rather dim and like to run around the open, or play extremely cowardly and open themselves up to lasers.)

B: If me has to go against the SRM cat myself, all me do is go for the side torso. They usually either die instantly or me blow out an arm. As soon as an arm goes, it be weaker than a centurion. (3 SRM6/2 MLs)

C: Most SRM cats can't even aim correctly. Just drift slightly to the side (even as an Atlas) & many will hilariously completely miss half their alpha. (Or attempt to hump your face, which usually makes it easier to get their fragile side torso.)

never bought the A1 made the mistake of buying the c1 instead... I do the same thing with the c4 and its a lot of fun, except when I lose one ear i don't feel as bad. Lose a bit of firepower but gain some precision with the mediums. Plus I'm not completely useless when I run out of ammo.

Now that I have nearly every mech I might buy one just to feel out the differences. A1s are definetely deadly up close but unlike the streakboats of times past it takes some skill to use one. Most of the time when I run across one its piloted by a newb and pick it apart because it missed 2 shots and hit the 3rd with only half the missiles. Or they will just be out in the open and I'll snipe a ear off before it can even get close.

Ya I can do better, primarily accuracy which will make 7 tons ammo last longer as well. Got this thing about 1 week ago, I'll get it broken in in no time. Also, jumpjets increase SRM accuracy... at least from personal experience. It may not be as noticeable on a catapult, but on a Jenner going 150kph engaging JJs before firing my SRMs helps a lot.

Hmm, I would move the DHS out to the arms. Should critpad a little better, and any cockpit ammo will be gone in 3 alphas anyways. 9 shots and you'd have 2 more tons gone as well, I would try putting some in the center torso and see if it helps/hurts

So far ammo explosions haven't really been a problem, if the ammo is gone in 3 shots it won't matter if it's in the arm OR ct heh. I keep my DHS in torso because if I lose an arm then I'm super heat efficient with what I've got left.

Hey Indoorsman,

I'd say we showed those Splatcats a thing or two on Frozen City Night tonight, eh?
You in your Founder Atlas D and me in my Hunchback AC20 4H.

My favourite part was when there was 1 SRMCat left, and I took off both his ears and just played with him. :D

P.S.- Glad to finally meet you in a match (and on the same side)!
To anyone who thinks he just edits in killshots to make himself look good... having dropped with him, he's definitely a good pilot.
The things he did with those small lasers.... *shudder*

I know! I saw that Streakcat come through the middle of the ship on Cowards Ridge, and thought "They still make these?!".
He didn't last long, though. Your dual UAC5s had something to say about that, lol.
