I have a suggestion that might solve a long discussed problem about gaming style – PUG versus clans.

As it is today, you have to two game modes – Conquest and Capture, but the teams on each side still suffers under the massive amount of “PUGs” (I’m one on them.)

Why not two game types with the two game modes – one as today – where you can join a team and do as you please, and a type where there are a predefined rank for each team!

If you choose this game type – you still have the two modes, but your function are defined by your mech (load out/tonnage) and your skills. Where you are encouraged to function in the team – by doing your part – the teams will be rewarded for the team effort. This might demand a update of the map, where each mech can be given commands – haven’t figured this out yet – perhaps a mark pr. mech plus a mark for the wanted function (guard, attack on sight, support a fellow mech, LRM attacks and so on). This mean that the Commander must have a few min before the battle to think out a strategy, and perhaps predefine the deployment. A team speak function would of course be a mighty help here. While the commander plan the strategy – the other can chat and perhaps read/hear about their role – on the map that the commander set up. When all are ready – e.g. 5 min max for planning, the game starts in one of the known two modes.
