All in all, a good change though. I am glad colors are permanent unlock.

I know this is only pointless appearance that I currently cannot see in battle unless I die or knockdowns come back, but MY GOD this is my fav piece of news.

Now, with 130 colors to chose from, I can finally paint up My K2 "Turbokat" the way it's supposed to be:

75 lets you paint it one time.
750 gives you that color / pattern permanently, meaning you can swap between any owned or free paint jobs at zero cost, as often as you like.
I think that is a bit expensive still... I'd think 75 single vs. 300 or 500 for permanent would seem better? But maybe I'm just cheap
At any rate, this is still massively better than before.

And the MC will go right back into some solid color investments.
And pretty new colors we get!!
This is GREAT !
Better to die in a fancy colored Mech than in a green Mech.

It may not have been the most lucrative method for PGI to employ*, but what the hell, this hugely benefits the player (ie, ME), so I'm definitely not going to complain about it! This has removed any hesitation I had for buying the colors and patterns I want, and I'm sure to buy all of the C-Bill colors as soon as I can, with MC colors as I see fit!

it's also for that chassis too, not just that mech
have 3 hunchbacks? maybe you mastered 3 cataphracts and then bought an ilya?
will i ever go back and forth between patterns 10 times, even among 3 variants? probably not. but knowing i can is worth the extra cost

Oh man, I can only hope that patterns/paints can be used on hero/founder 'mechs (although I'm not holding my breath).
Note: I would still want Hero/Founder 'mech patterns/colors as a special skin that can only be used on those particular 'mechs, but I would really, really like to be able to use other colors/patterns on those 'mechs if I want to in addition to those special skins. Even better: Allow us to re-color those special founder/hero patterns! And/Or have the colors that come with the Hero patterns as special colors that can only be used on those 'mechs!
Imagine a CN9-YLW in a PCGamer pattern using Yen-lo Wang White and and Yen-lo Wang Red, or a Muromets with white Star League stars against a black background!
