Forget about it for now, it's time will come.

Don't worry PGI I'll spend more than enough for this man to join the party.

I have faith.

(Yay poster above me, Colorado players UNITE! wanted to say that forever )

one last one, for old times sake? :)

also, never let the facts get in the way of a good argument as I always say

Why not? And touche... Hard to argue with you when you're being reasonable. sheesh.

No thanks. You've missed the whole point. The entire purpose of window-in-window zoom is that you retain your situational awareness by the rest of the screen only being Zoom x1.

Lol, yah so you get to keep a crappy half backed module, instead of a good one for other people. Everyone's vote counts, and damn the logic!

The engine is not stopping it from working properly, they just aren't doing it.

I hope they fix this module at some point, but until then, I have no plans to ever buy it, nor should you.

...this game is skewed almost entirely to close range with little to no regard to long range combat. Simply put, you will rarely, if ever, need to see farther than what the regular zoom provides.

It must have been a pretty bad performance hit. But what I don't get is that when OTHER people are sniping in ALL OTHER games (like friggin SNIPER games) they don't care about "situational awareness", but some douche in a tin can with 20 tons of armor around and a view like looking through horse blinders cares. This is so backwards. Yes, long range combat is relegated to low powered lights running from SSRM lights and pokey stalkers not yet in battle.

Too late, I already bought it.

But that doesn't currently work, so why don't they give us a +1 zoom level for the module instead?
I have it equipped on my atlas, but I forget about it most of the time.

Again youre missing the point. When you zoom it gives you tunnel vision and you lose FoV. The entire point of window-in-window zoom is that you get both the benefit of being zoomed in and zoomed out at the same time. +1 zoom level is not the same thing nor would that even be worth a module slot.

And yes the zoom system in this game sucks and need to be completely revamped at some point in time. However I would place it rather low on the list of priorities at the moment.

The threat of moron 3rd person view is what keeps me from spending any more money.

Compared to PIP a 3rd person cam is a walk in the park, but make of that what you will.

Personally it tells me fairly convincingly that it would be in the game already if they had plans to implement it.

Lol, then zoom in and then out, it's better than _not_ having zoom. In fact, I'd prefer full screen zoom. Sit. awareness is provided by sound, local radar, teammates, and prompt zoom controls and looking around, etc... the extra few degrees of visibility are useful when _sniping_.

Go to walmart and look through a scope, when you are focused, you get tunnel vision anyways, and you close one whole eye! Real world sniping causes 50% loss in visible situalational awareness. The horror! (stop it your making too much sense!)

Actually, real world snipers do NOT close their other eye, at least not always (high power scopes provide too different of pictures to keep both eyes open, but most real world sniper scenarios are actually shorter range than the public tends to believe). It causes some level of strain, and reduces situational awareness. Keeping both eyes open is nice because its a bit easier to line up your shot when one eye provides a reference to the surroundings, and the other takes care of the specifics. I've done it myself, and its nice. The combining of your vision almost creates an zoomed overlay. Its as close to pip as a human can get, really.

But that's all off topic.
