At least not in the way People want it fixed ...

When you either 1) Become part of the Dev team officially, or 2) Flip the ENTIRE bill for funding this (continous) project, then you will have earned the right to say "I say they can't ..."

most useful thing you can do with a Clanner.

Shoot Them.
Heck, somehow they manage to be more tedious than a malking samurai snake!

Tedious? The great warriors of the Draconis Combine? Hmph! You want tedious? Whaddaya call german merchants in assault mechs? They try to buy out the enemy instead of fighting them, and if that doesn't work they buy some mercenaries to do the fighting so they can sit in their Atlas and count their money without all that distracting gunfire to ruin things.

(Gotta love those BT stereotypes. :D )

Yeah Game is not half way done ( If it is? It's just sad then ) and we are even talking about clan invasion. Yes I know it should start around March, April but honestly we need to get real, we will have possibly 6 Maps by then? Look guys I don't want to be pessimistic, but still any one believes that the hyped warfare will be anything more than WOT clan wars with just few repetitive maps? How we even think about introducing Clans when basic things are not sorted 2 months before invasion? If it will happen, it will be just another MC and C-Bill sink, nothing more... Yes I am pessimistic in nature, but I was optimistic about MWO couple of months before.

Certainly not. Getting mad would go against my zen-like self control as a Kuritan. Your wealth and toys bounce off me like water off the back of a duck. Or like criticism off a Davion.

Still, the Lyrans aren't so bad. At least they always provided us with slow, easily hit targets to practice on. :D

I think we can all agree that the FedRats across our southern border are the _real_ untrustworthy scum of the universe.

UMM the Comguard did and it was a 15 year truce.

Hi guys I’m kind of new to MWO (even though I’ve been playing BTech for the last 25 years or so :D), and I’ve just been getting out of the trial mechs now and I had a thought about Clan mechs.

I’m a massive fan of the Clans (go Wolf or go Home), but I’ve noticed so few warriors try to play the game with any skill, or to challenge themselves! When I try to duel other mechwarriors they often gang up on me, or shoot me when I’ve shutdown. So this got me thinking, how will the Clans and their awesome mechs be implemented over the next year?

PGI should program some sort of challenge, or target calling option, that lets you call your target and stick to your own rules of Zellbrigen (even if the other mechwarriors are dezgra). If you do stick to Zell then you earn “honor-points” or “standing”, and you can use those points to buy clan mechs when they come out. That’ll keep the IS freebirths from getting their filthy hands on real tech. What do you guys/gals think?

I did see an honor duel once in this game my Merc corp dropped in an 8 man. We watched two mechs on the other team shooting the crap outta each other for honor. In the end though all that got them was one dead mech, and one very messed up one, then a rolfstompping from us. We even let them finsh their fight BEFORE we attacked. It was just too funny watching it to disturb them.

The other major issue we need to concider is the Clans don't lose a major battle for quite some time. So how would anyone not in the invasion force get a clan mech?

Clans? Pfft.
Remind me again. Who won the invasion?
Huh?

Comstar (or more correctly the Comguards) - the group that nobody's in . The reformed Star League (also something nobody's in) later won a Trial of Refusal to end the invasion - but a lot of good that did....

Besides who says that we're going to repeat history?

No. You don't want to automatically believe everything everyone says, that's incredibly foolish. You'll end up believing all sorts of wacky things, like Unicorns, and zombies, and people that live in the sky.

Connor made an extraordinary claim, asking how he knows this is what you should do. Think before you post.

Warrior castes with ritualized combat rules are... unsmart. I suppose historically they form their rituals because without rules, war becomes too nasty and brutal and cause too much harm for too little gain. But if you really fight for your survival and freedom, rules will have to go out of the window.

The Klingons at least seem to understand them - Honor means so much to them, but in the end, even they have a failsafe:

Quote

In war there is nothing more honorable than victory

LULZ.

Yes. We are superior! We are honorable!

We feel so honorable calling out honor duels in mechs 300 years superior to yours! No "unfair" advantage to be had!

Yawn. Has fun with yer Cos-play son.

You Steiner scum are such idiots. Our tech is not 300 years more advance, your tech just fell behind by 300 years. We have the original Star League tech, you guys felt like screwing yourselves and go back to the stone ages. Not our fault.

This is not true. Several Merc units and some of the elite house units won some major engagements. But, a planet is not fought with only one engagement. Each planet saw several engagements. The conquest for a planet took days or weeks.

Even when the above mentioned units won an engagement they took heavy losses doing it. So they became an ineffective fighting force. This is how IS force got Clan Tech.

Yeah they even ripped off components from Clan mechs so they could research it later.
