That was pretty funny. Turning off the cockpit lights was a nice touch, and it's nice to see something other than 'LEEEEROY' every once in a while, even if it's not really the optimal tactic.

I have to ask, though - what did you do, just buy a stock 4SP and replace the mediums with small pulses? The number of times you overheated had my fingers just itching to grab the mouse and get you to stop shooting the lasers.

Shut down ambushes are probably the most fun thing ever in Mechwarrior. Unfortunately, I feel like they've been ruined by ECM as now everyone is already expecting mechs with no sensor signatures.

A nice touch would be for shutting down to let your 'mech cool off and blend into the heat background after a few seconds. Everyone looks for ECM 'mechs using heat vision, but if you've got that on and you walk into a shutdown ambush, you wouldn't see them until it's too late, which would be fantastic.

My group has done something similar before on that side of the map except we hid behind the ship...great fun was had by all. Kudos on a successful ambush.

I'm pretty sure that you do already cool off in game and blend in.

Yeah, that was my first round with the 4SP and I didn’t have the money to outfit it the way I would have liked, I prefer the 4 small pulse over the 4 medium. I could should have done a lot better about shutting down, but I was excited. Like really excited, fortunately my fraps did not record my gleeful chortles.
