With how stupid game modes and small maps we have now plus the mentality of the players (close range fights) adding this mech is a suicide.

Maps are getting much bigger. I imagine the older maps will at some point get a pass on size change in the future as well or relegated to a specific mode of play.

The only way we'll see the Nova/Blackhawk is if they proceed with a major change to its structure like MekTek did so it has a proper torso.

Why? With it's JJs it can spin fairly easily, and the Nova has wicked turning speed. I think it would add some variation to the game with having a Nova not be able to TT. Give it some personality. The Arms could still move, track, possibly they could even have a wider radius for targeting than other mechs to make up for the lack of torso twist. I mean anyone who has their weapon groups set to alpha strike is going to blow up with the Nova anyways. So weapon groups based off the arms, and a wide arm radius could work.

Atlas II is hilarious to me, since it's exactly the same weight as an Atlas. All you need to do is take the AS7-D and spec it out the exact same way. Viola!

The big deal was that it had ferro and CASE, which is something you shouldn't be able to install on a AS7-D without sending it back to the factory.

I'm gonna rock the boat here;

Light - Uller (or maybe the Puma)
Med - Shadowcat
Heavy - Summoner(Thor) or Hellbringer(Loki)
Assault - Masakari

Noooo!!
What have you done.
=(

I know you'll hate me for saying it.
But I loved playing the Puma in Mech Assault and Mech Assault 2.
Loved it so much.

I even made up a song I'd sing when I was running in it..

Light: Kit Fox or Adder most likely.
Medium: ... I soooooo want my Ice Ferret, but more likely will be a Stormcrow.
Heavy: First announcement will be a Mad Cat. Anything less will cause a Clanboy riot.
Assault: Again, pulling for my boy Executioner but most likely will be a Dire Wolf.

ETA: Yes, I consciously called them all by their Clan names except the Mad Cat. Because Mad Cat.

If we hypothesise that we'll see the Kit Fox as the light 'mech of choice, which variants do you think will make the grade? Some of the variants are absurdly overpowered for such a light chassis (D as a missile boat and H with heavy lasers and gauss spring to mind). Also, any thoughts on how they're going to incorporate an omni system (I'm sure there's a million and one threads discussing just that)

Kind of dissappointing that "omni" mechs don't really mean anything anymore being that inner sphere mechs in the game are full customizable.

hmm first 4 clan mechs... I'm thinking that while they might have others at the same time, in the first wave they will include the ones that are already partly buil and modeled into the game for the IS, saves a lot of work in design time.

Commando IIC
Jenner IIC
Hunchback IIC
Orion IIC
Highlander IIC
Atlas AS7-D ( C )

Atleast one of each weight class is coming up, lets them crank out a larger variety in less time and get the Clans several mechs to play with more quickly if they run it that way.

I think the madcat because it will make them the most money if they hero it.
But it doesn't really mater, whatever they put in will be redesigned and probably look great.

The funny thing is, some clans make heavy use, even in the front line, with a few of the IICs. Jenner IIC, for example, is extremely popular in CNC. Others, however, are extremely rare, even in a garrison force, such as the Commando IIC. Hunchback IIC has gott to get in at some point, though. I mean, remember that Founders Hunchback Vid? (Only bad thing is it only has one ... yet!) Lolzy pure offense suicide mech. XD
