Finally a good color system. I can finally put black on my rides without having to spend 1kMC PER MECH. I dropped 1kMC for the color, and that's it. Can apply it to any ride or new rides, take on and off at will, no more gouging. It's great. At 125mc per Phranken I might eventually get some of those too. This new system has merit and mercy, unlike what we had before, which just gouged you as much as possible. I never thought I'd actually buy skins in this game beyond my 900k blue paints because the system was such a PoS ripoff, but now I dropped 1,250MC and most likely will get more later down the road. They did something right!

Damn - was hoping the paint system would be a bit more balanced for non-MC people. Oh well. I guess it makes sense for the company. Alas, using the system no longer makes sense for myself or the team I help run, so we will not be using it. Look for us in basic green mechs!

all i have to say about this is are you SERIOUS??? over 4000 mc to unlock the complete phranken color set. and thats only using phranken on ONE mech type. money hungry much?

Single-use Phranken is cheaper than before, so stop complaining, get just the camo and repaint it with Cbill colors.

You get unlimited paint use though, compared to single-use cheap paint. I really prefer it this way. The first thing I did when the sale went live was purchasing every single basic color with Cbills, with that and the PCGamer free skin I'm having a lot more fun time in the paint shop than before.

If it's a founder's mech, you cannot change the pattern.

They answered this in the latest ask the devs. Long story short they use a separate geometry then the regular mechs and are looking into the "merit" of providing the option. As well as adding the colors from them to the unlocked palate (this is under Known issues).
