That is to unlock the pattern for that mech type and the colors. So once you pay that, you get the colors for every other single mech in the game, and the pattern for all variants of the type you bought it for. So for 3250 you can have all 30 of your catapults in Phranken paint...

Seems to be a glitch. I didn't buy it, but I selected stalker phranken and it showed the total cost. PGI might want to see if there's a bug. Has this happened to anyone else?

Its not a bug, just the OP not paying attention to the plainly visible box that shows you the cost.

He DID check it. The additional cost didn't show up. Like I said earlier, it might be a bug.

I bet a lot of this could be resolved with 1-use colors being offered as well as permanent unlock colors, just like the patterns themselves.
