GG at the end of a match.

Thank you PGI for adding the post-match chat screen... I'm sure there will be plenty of trash talking using it, but still, it's nice to actually be able to finish things being said mid match that used to be cut off.

I can see you must be too busy shooting people to even use capital letters. Just pointing out you pointing out the obvious.

I must say... a LOT of things feel good after this last patch.

The only down side form my perspective is the insistence of QQing over non-issues in the Forums. But that is hardly something PGI can be held accountable for.

The new End Match is great. Love the animations and sound effects, pre-match. Seems like most of the balance tweaks have been real well thought out.

Still waiting on a lobby and some type of REAL voip, but am more than content to wait and see. I also like the new model of 2x a month push out larger, more fully tested patches.

Fixed that for you. I'm technically off-duty right now but I'm still packing.

People who die first talk most, pretty obvious to me.

On topic, other than one person I saw crying about not having team support even though he died first, most of the chatter has been decent.

Punctuation Edit: Can't police others if I don't do it to my own self. :)

That's par for the course, and has been since closed BETA. Play some tonight there has been a lot of crying, and a lot of "you guys suck" by those that rush in to die.

IDG those guys. Maybe they think their battleplan is printed on the back of their mech so that everyone behind them can magically know what they're doing. :) Most of the stuff I've seen has been normal player talk and lots of congrats on good games and kills regardless of the side that pulled it off. Was in a pug 6-8 matchup (one noshow, one AFK) loss against a 4man who gave us kudos on putting up a scrap anyway and taking down some of their guys. A little chatter can go a long way sometimes.

If people are mostly complaining about non-issues, perhaps they don't have much in the way of new issues to complain about. That's a sign of progress in itself.

Ugh.. Have you seen the "Catapults are OP!!! Nerf them!" nonsense Topic? *shakes head*

Seriously, people just can't get a grip that half the issues ain't the game, ain't the tech, it's their lack of ability to out think their opponents. :)

I love the current patch and plan to get two of my buddies to join me as soon as they're done downloading the client. Then I have the arduous task to teaching them how to play (they're both casuals).

Now given that, I agree with the gist of the Catapults are OP posts, if not the whining part. They are superior platform given equivalent skill. It is most certainly a metagame issue.

And once again I'm amazed at the number of MWO vets who don't understand what Metagame even means.

not willing to argue something in 2 topics Thirdstar, sorry. Only reason 90% of stuff is "OP" is that people long ago skipped the "role warfare" part of the Metagame for Min/Maxxed 8 mans and LoneWolf nonsense. If units actually attempted to perform their roles (like scouting) most of these issues are alleviated. So, I will simply leave it at I agree to disagree with you. Catapults have Never struck fear into me when dropping.

Hey, I will say that if cats were truly OP, I wouldn't really have a learning curve for them. I'm one of those poorly-playing folks: I work my way up from n00b to skilled on each mech I play, and usually experiment with loadouts and playstyles like nobody's business all the time. Just because I like being creative with the games I play.

When I dropped in a Gaussapault for the first few times I had played the previous sixty or seventy rounds as an in-close fighter with ml's and srm. Instant death. Then I was crap in my mech, and after a while I started to become a little better, and now I'm up to midway between "maggot" and "normal." When I reach "you hacker" I'll move on to the next playstyle.

If it were really an OP issue, would I really be so bad to start off and get so good in the end? I mean, being a good pilot at the end of this little experiment means I'm not an utter ***** at gaming, and being horrible at playing at first means I'm not given an extreme advantage in my mech, right?

err... back on topic...
Yeah, thanks PGI. :) Glad to be able to talk a little with the folks on the other end after a match, if only to sometimes say "Daaamn you're good."
