In all seriousness, not going with LOL I WANT AN ATLAS LOL, since we're certainly going to be starting in a light or a cheap medium, I'd like a Raven.

Information is a weapon, and with all of the gadgets Ravens are rocking you'll definitely be useful. On top of their electronics, they pack enough weapons to be able to hold their own, and are surprisingly resilient for a light mech.

Other than that perhaps an Owens, extremely mobile fire support is always fun.

Kit fox/uller would be a great place to start [yeah I know they're clan]. I'm hoping the leveling/mech selection system doesn't overly focus on individuals leveling to uber mechs. Squad tactics are still important and every mech has a role.

What are some good light designs in this time line?I like a fast mech with quick jump but im not savy to the earlier mechs.Anyone throw me a bone and holler out some good fast and furious light mechs?

Thunderbolt anyone? classic 65 Ton all around machine. Years and years of faithful service in just about every single house, not to mention a mercenary work horse.

Got my centurion, now all I need is a Shadow Hawk and I will be happy, my two favorite mechs.

@badmoon -- good light designs : Commando, Valkyrie, Panther,Wolfhound (3028 design?), Javelin, Locust, Mercury, Wasp, Stinger, Thorn, Hornet, Jenner, Firestarter

As far as a fast and furious, jump capable light mech, i would have to go with either the Valkyrie or Javelin. The Javelin JVN-10F (aka fire javelin) isnt a horrible design, GM 180 standard engine giving it a 97.2 km/h , 4 Medium Lasers and 180 meter jump capability sounds like the mech you are looking for.

I think I'm the only one here that loves the King Crab. I really don't see why not. It's lethal and has a unique design. I'd love to see the redesign!

Eh. Aside that, I'd like to see the Exterminator..

I'd personally would love Tarantula, but it's (as other people pointed out) doesnt fit the timeline, so i'd pick Scorpion a 4-legged, 55ton mech that can reach 97,2km/h and has a PPC

I might not use it a lot, but the Crab and King Crab. The King Crab hasn't been in any Mechwarrior game so far, if I recall correctly.

I want the Crab just because its awesome.
