While it is a fairly minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, it seems to be an entirely unnecessary one.

There is no reason (note: a reason and a cause are two entirely different things) for mechs to remain "engaged" past the end of the match. Once the match is over, people hanging around to look at their stats or chat shouldn't hold up the rest of the players who have disconnected.

Arguments of "this isn't important enough to fix - they should fix X instead" are spouted by people with a very shallow understanding of how a development team works.

As an adult I can tell time and I promise you that 4 minutes is NOT 15-45 seconds. Anyone not a child realizes that fact.

Time dilation? I've never seen it take "4 minutes".

I agree, and if this wasn't a Beta and the end match code probably changing next patch I would probably care. It's "low impact" compared to a lot of things and they probably have a very simple line of code handling it, one that would become rather complex once it had to judge the status of the player relative to the status of the game and not just lock mechs to the instance.

Ultimately it's NOT a short amount of time. First it's the 15 to 30 second wait for the stats to appear, then after you've looked at your stats, and exit, it can be well over a minute before the 'mech is released for the next battle.

This affects the "flow" of game play, especially for people with only a few, or maybe only one, owned 'mech in their garage, and definitely slows the night down.

You've just won a match, you're raring to go for the next, and ka-thud, queue in 70's Heinz Catsup commercial song, "Anticipation", or Jeapordy theme song, as you wait, and wait, and wait...

I realize this is a game all of its own flavor, BUT, it's got a real clunky feel to it when it comes to between match delays that you don't have (at least to this extreme) in any other MMO that I've ever played.

15-20 Seconds is what me and my friends used to see as far as wait times.

2 Minutes min now, kind of annoying and intrusive to the flow of things.

In a world where it is acceptable to be a bit peeved when your dollar menu items somehow take 10 minutes to prepare I find it reasonable to make mention that mech release times are a bit excessive. You want us to buy paints and stuff don't ya?

Averaging 45 seconds to get your mech back after a match. Please release the players mech as soon as they have exited the match.

^This. Please make Mechs drivable again as soon as the match is done.

If the mech was released at the moment the end game screen appears, I would be happy. The farmers that suicide or disconnect would still have the mech locked until at least then. However the GG'ers and QQ'ers can sit around stroking their egos after the rest of us have moved onto the next match. I don't have all day to play and my time is very important to me, so wasting 1-2 minutes for every match is somewhat annoying to me.

end game results screen = mechs are unlocked

easy.
