I agree with this and you are correct. But they do know about it and I think they are fairly smart enough to know while they want to keep the experience of Battletech and Mechwarrior alive and try to adhere to the TT rules or the spirit of them as much as possible, in some ways they can't because of trying to translate a computer game into being as realistic as possible for a simulation.
