I am sure that the computer program they are using is screening out anyone who says there birthday is after May ??, 1994. So if you made a mistake and put down 2012 in the year section you will be SOL and may have to start up a new account or wait.

You entered in your proper birth date, and now are worried you wont get in, and are hoping that it only checks when the NDA is signed so you can at that point say that you are over 18...

Some people probably entered a birth date of 2011? I am sorry but if they can't even fill out the Beta Registration form, they wont make very good/productive testers.

This whole thread is about cheating the system, I wouldn't hold your breath for an official response, especially one that tells you what you want to hear.

Alright, this is what I have to say about the whole under 18 Non-Disclosure Policy. If you are under the age of 18 you are NOT old enough to participate in the beta because you are required to sign a binding contract. If there were to make a cosign contract that your parent or legal guardian could sign then there would be additional resources spent on the development of the game, which is someting that the Devs want to avoid. Also, on a side note, there are people who can use this beta as a possibe internship for their college education. Some people have different motives other than just playing the game and wanting to try it out, just so you know.

It's not about cheating the system. I entered my birthdate honestly, I am 17 and easily could have lied if I wanted to, but contract fraud = bad. It is also not about the answer I WANT. It is pretty much just waiting until someone official trips across one of these threads, and gives a quick answer to put the question OFFICIALLY to rest. It might not happen, and that's fine as they are busy people, but that's the hope. That is all.

You ARE under 18 correct? If so, you are trying to cheat the system and sign the NDA anyway (by saying you are 18).

If you are over 18 and filled out the form incorrectly, then as I said in the above post, you wont make a very good beta tester, at which point why should the devs take time and effort to correct your mistake to allow you access? Easy answer, they shouldn't.

My post was not directed toward you, you did not indicate you wanted to cheat the system, the OP did.

That said, if you know you have to sign the NDA to enter the beta, and you know you can't do it at the age of 17, I am not sure what you are waiting on man? Are you holding out hope they will allow for cosigns?

The Devs are HIGHLY unlikely to respond to this. You don't have your age on your profile, Jun, so I would presume (just as the devs will) that you are under 18, and wish to get into the beta. I feel ya, but if they say it matters, it would only encourage people who are under 18 to lie, and if they said it didn't, they would be lying. So, since your post can ONLY invite speculation from the forum users, and the Devs WON'T do anything like lying or encouraging people to lie, I suggest you wait for open beta and stop being upset that others have opinions on this forum. For if you post, they will come, and they WILL have opinions.

Also, I vote for this topic to be locked by the mods, but thats just my vote.

I am not under 18. I just cannot remember what i put for my birthdate on the beta profile, and there is no way to check as the beta profile is hidden from you.

Trying to explain this again....i simply want to know whether the age listed in the beta profile is used to screen out applicants before sending out beta invites.

My forum profile does not have a birth date as it is optional.

Now maybe people will stop spamming the thread with "under 18 lolololol".

The irony is that many people who can't comprehend the OP will be going into the beta and complaining about other people not reading...

Under 18 = you have to 'pinky promise' Russ not to tell anyone

As someone who is 5 months from being 18, and has played every Mechwarrior aside from the MW1/MW2, I am pained.

Dude, I forgot to re input my comp info, so I am certain I won,t be getting in. Doesnt matter much, as my comp just died lol and I wont be getting a new comp until closer to launch. But if you couldn't put the correct birthday you obviously were not paying attention enough to make a good beta tester. Frankly, neither would I lol. But since you do not wish to listen to reason, (Another sign you are PROBABLY a minor) I say good day to this thread, and I will see ya on the battlefield, KT. I suspect you will be an able opponent.

Oh, OP, if you want people to stop responding to the original post, CHANGE IT. Lots of people just respond without bothering/have time to read the whole thread. Just a piece of advice from one open forum user to another.

I did notice that I can no longer edit my Beta profile now that it is complete. If you are worried that you input something incorrectly, perhaps you could delete your entire profile and start over.

There has been no official response and I would not expect one anytime soon. It's the weekend and the few Devs who are on the boards are busy with the recently launched closed beta.

If you are under 18 either legitimately or due to input error when filling out your profile, I would imagine your account would be flagged as not being able to legally sign an NDA.

With the high volume of profiles who have opted into the beta program it is not a priority to go back and retroactively change incorrectly filled out profiles, or to allow users under 18 to have a legal guardian sign for them.

There are plenty of people who can't comprehend the OP, so according to your logic, they shouldn't get into beta either.

I don't see why i need to edit the OP when it quite clearly explains the question.

You are not a dev, you don't determine who gets in or how. Which is why i asked for people to be patient and wait for an official response instead of just speculating endlessly about under 18s, co-signing, and all that stuff.

Helmer : no problem, i fully understand it is the weekend and we can wait for the devs to respond when they are ready. On the topic of the beta profile, i just find it strange that you can't see it after you submit it.

Robby : That's an interesting idea, but i'm pretty sure there's no option to delete a profile...i don't see one at least.

Don't worry about it man, the original post was what most of us, including me were responding to. It brought up under 18 not you..

You brought up cosign, which was a valid (if unrealistic) question.
