I hope the whole soundtrack is less rock'n'roll, and more like MW2's soundtrack.

Maybe we'll get music like this when the clans invade?

Go get anything from Two Steps from Hell (my favorite track is Norwegian Pirate)..put it on loop.. viola! Epic soundtrack for ANY game.

Well, Paul made some nice music pieces, but idk, they'll hardly be used even as a template for the game's soundtrack. :)

I second that hope.... Jeehun Hwang's soundtrack was awesome, wouldn't mind it continued in that vein.

The soundtrack will be: OFF

I need to hear my environment to ensure I don't get flanked, so I'll rarely be playing music. Though I would still like the game to have the ability for reading a PC directory for music files and allow in-cockpit play.

Would be sweet too if it could (optionally) apply an effect to make it sound as if it's playing inside the cockpit :)

The designs of the mechs makes me think a rock/metal would be most approprate (Think of "Takin a ride" by Don Felder)

but some techno/electronic could be blended in with the rock/metal (Think "Hell's March" by Frank Klepacki)

Sound like a great idea. I usually turn off the music so I can hear the environment. The soundtrack is what you listen to I between matches or while working in the Mech Lab.

I would personally love for it to be the same quality as the MechWarrior 2 soundtrack I have that on my Itunes till this day and it still is one of the best game soundtracks out there.

I have an "EPIC" Pandora playlist. If I had to pick music from past Mech games it would be Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries.

Here are a couple...

This is probably my favourite mechwarrior-related track.

Not much interest on my part no matter what it sounds like. I always turn in-game music off so I can hear things that matter, like rocket launchers.

I didn't like the "Lets rock!" music that MW4 had. "Lets rock!" is a term for very generic hard rock music with unexciting riffs, and that is what alot of games had. My favorite music is ambient noise, it really helps for immersion. I like "The Block is Hot" from Mechwarrior 3 alot too.

Skip to 3:07, although the intro and Pirates Moon had good music aswell. MW3 had the smallest soundtrack, but in my opinion, the best.

I'm not sure there is going to be a 'soundtrack' to be honest. Maybe some menu music or something. But that's about it. A score seems a bit odd for a multiplayer game.

Unreal Tournament (and many other multiplayer games) want to have a word with you.

Personally I'm hoping for something very much like Crysis 2 soundtrack for MWO.
