I left out the Keyboard and Mouse option as it seems that would be the highest answer and I was more curious of what everyone out there is using.

I'm currently running a MS Precision Pro for my right hand, the Strategic Commander for my left, and some pedals from a race wheel I have setup.

Feel free to post pics ^_^

Maybe differentiate between "Joystick + Mouse" and "Throttle + Mouse"?

I currently use kb + mouse but I want to use throttle and mouse as that is the most efficient combo.

I need to finish scale remapping in UJR though to make that properly viable - I have no detent at 50% on the throttle (Nor would I want stop to be in the middle - too little granularity for forward speeds), mine is at more like 33%. Once I can set stop to be at the 33% detent, I plan on moving to throttle + mouse.

I never thought some one would use that as a combo but it makes sense so I updated it ^_^

Stick and mouse? Anyone? I was considering trying to set up a left handed Joystick as throttle and yaw. Doable ya think?

Throttle and yaw? You mean throttle and leg turning?
Maybe not ideal as the stick would be centered vertically (ie throttle with centering) so you would have to constantly hold the stick forwards.
If you wanted the throttle stick to act in "relative" mode (ie zero stick means no change instead of zero stick means stop) then you would probably want some kind of stick to keyboard mapping, or have the physical stick control a virtual axis.

Actually zero stick means stop, and down stick means reverse is exactly what I'm thinking. The trick would be half stick forward meaning half throttle etc etc.

Missing a 'throttle with mouse & pedals' option, voted throttle with mouse, cause it describes it best.

HOTAS Warthog throttle on the left, Saitek Combat Pedals for turning, mouse for torso.

Back in the old days, I refused to pilot a mech with something other than a joystick, but the Warthog is relatively heavy and made completely out of metal with strong spring force, so I simply don't get the speed I get with a mouse. Perhaps people who are used to playing shooters with a gamepad (which I strictly refuse to do) are in a better situation there.

I especially love the Warthog's throttle for its gazillion buttons and switches. some of them are toggleable by hardware design, allowing to permanently switch on stuff that was originally hold-button-down-stuff (like TAG).

Would love to see actual axis implementation for turning, till then pedals feel weird. When in a small, fast runner, I often switch to turning via one of the coolie hats on the throttle.

One thing still missing is TrackIR support for freelook. Not that it would be very useful for aiming or stuff, but it could improve situational awareness a bit, and i find myself never using ctrl-freelook atm.

The Joy mouse option was on there as I remember some folks use a left handed mouse and right joy. I'm left handed but I'm a right mouse user. My brother may end up using either a dual joy setup or the Steel Battalion if I can get it working.

Its interesting the different setups people have. The throttle I have currently only has 4 buttons available for it. I had to hack in a different USB controller for it as it was originally designed for Playstation 2 and there are no 64 bit drivers available. Right now I'm using the strategic commander but I would love to have a throttle with a bazillion buttons on it ;)

other for keyboard and mouse, I DO have a Saitek X52 FCS, but just having the editing software running on my computer crashes it.

I've got a Razer Nostromo keypad under my left and a Naga 17-button mouse under my right. I thought I was doing pretty slick, given the currently spotty stick support in this game.

Clearly, I was wrong...o_o...

I went with Throttle+Mouse but I really use a Nostromo and mouse and didn't see that option. Having spent a lot of time trying to get the X52 usable I dumped the stick and just used the throttle, but that was lame because every time I bring up the battle map or chat the mech would come to a stop.

So I went back to my trusty Nostromo and suddenly my survival rate and kill ratio are back up to where I was used to.

I installed the Cyborg software or what ever and I don't know why but it picked up my keyboard (cyborg) but not the flight stick and throttle... it seemed to work just like a basic joystick. I didn't muddle with it too much as its my brother's and I spent too long figuring out how to get everything I have setup the way I like it.

Ow Chi: My brother thought it was dumb that the USB cord was connected to the throttle and the stick to the throttle instead of the other way around. I'm kind of glad to see some one figured that out lol

Another Throttle (X-52Pro), Mouse and Pedals (Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals) config here. The joystick is available too, but I almost never touch it. Someday, hopefully, we will see some truly useful support incorporated for joystick/HOTAS use, and it will become more practical.

Other: Mouse + Keypad (original Nostromo) http://tinypic.com/v...pic=2qbsiyx&s=6

Poll really needs an option for keypads/gameboards(they're very different from console-ish gampads) - I'd bet many are using a mouse + Nostromo/G13/etc setup for this.

I've been hoping someone would come out with a right hand keypad - something like a reverse Nostromo with a right hand thumb trackball or thumb hat stick. The ultimate gaming mouse.

It keeps changing what works on it seems every patch. I used a flight hotas stick and throttle everything worked great. now
I can still use the stick to fire and turn only. mouse for pitch functions. In the end it will all be fixed near the end of build. Same is also true of a 3d extreme pro.

I had it working fine with WinXP and MWO, but thanks to HackNFly it works very well with Win7 now. ;)

I'm another Throttle+Pedals+Mouse user. I REALLY want to get the X52 joystick working properly, but the mouse just seems too superior right now. That just seems wrong...
