I was wondering if damage beyond optimal range has a value that decreases gradually with the distance becoming 0 at maximum range or if it's just half the nominal damage.
Let's take an AC5 for example it has 5 damage and a range of 540m with a max range of 1620. If i understood well it has a steady 5 damage from 0 to 540m but after that? It has 2.5 damage until 1620m or it loses 1 damage every 216m?
Does the same thing happens equally for both lasers and balistics?

Yes, it's a linear drop off from full damage to 0 for both energy and ballistic wepaons. For energy weapons the max range is 2X their effective range, for ballistics it's 3X their effective range. Ballistic rounds will also start to drop downward after they reach the end of their optimum range. Missiles simply explode when they reach the limit of their effective range.
For a list of optimum and max ranges, you can refer to this page: mwowiki.org/wiki/Weapons. They will also be displayed in the Mech Lab after the Feb 19 patch.
