you can use any gpu monitoring programs, either with OSD (on-screen display) overlays, or just keep one running in the background and check gpu usage log/graph after exiting a game.

and from my understanding, if you have SLI with single monitor setups, the second card will stay idle.
if you have multiple displays hooked up to the same card, it would also be second card idle.
now if you have surround setup with monitors hooked up to diff cards, both cards will be utilized, BUT with no performance gain. (this is what happens to me)

I have SLI on one monitor. One card is idle, the other is under heavy load (even when in mech lab).
I have 2 evga GTX 460 fermi's (with rear exhaust thank god) with i5 3570k, 8gb ram.

The temp of the one under load hovers around 60 once MWO is started, regardless of the state, even in the logged off to inactivity screen.
Once I close MWO it quickly drops to 35ish.

I use MSI afterburner to monitor.

I'm running a 3570k at 4.6ghz with 16gb of memory and a gtx690. I can't max the game out at max settings on a 30" monitor. My 2nd gpu is stroking the dog while I play, how bout you guys get on that SLI issue.
