1st day of invites down a few to go.

Now then, we got 6 days left of invites to go out. That means 142 invites (roughly and if following a 7 day week schedule) went out today. 200 if they go on a 5 day schedule. I'm not gonna lie and be as truthful as I can. It bummed me out hardcore. But, there are a few days of invites left as a community stand firm don't get discouraged if you didn't get one today and be patient. 10 years is a long time and we all are salivating at the prospect of wanting to and getting to play this game. It is right around the corner so reign in your outrage and sorrow (I'm there right next to you in the sorrow part.) and chin up. For tomorrow is another day.

I said the same thing they said "thousands of closed beta invites to send" and then today in Bryans post he said "1000 of the next 7 days"...
Only thing I can think of is that something went wrong yesterday, thus the delay. Maybe they were expecting some servers that didn't arrive or couldn't get set up or something and in haste because they didn't want to stand still and do nothing cause come on you and I know the temperatures were rising in here with no info, they opened it up just a droplet and let a few people in.
Edited to add, I looked on Twitter and several other places for the "thousands" quote but could not find for the life of me. I remember seeing it but cannot remember where. Hell I know a bunch of us seen it cause in threads I didn't even post in people were talking about it.

Don't feel bad man. Think of it like this 1st pick drafts let the opposing team know how your gonna build. Each sucessive draft may leave you with less experience in the short run but, you have a better chance of hooking up with a vetern player used to MW:O's game style and learning the tricks of the trade.

Yeah, I keep getting antsy then I think, "whats another two months?" By that time I will be happily unemployed and can dedicate at least 2 solid months to tearing mechs up before I go back part time for my master's. I would blow rainbows outta every hole I have if I get a beta invite tomorrow, don't get me wrong.

actually given those numbers your chances are 1:100 but anyway =P
Another way to think of it is like this, the longer it takes you to get in the less bugs you will face initially and the more enjoyable your experience will be from the start

1% chance at getting in, during week 1.... just shy of 8 weeks between now and you can get in with a founders package. unless they are working weirdly they will step it up to the level the expect for July 17th somewhat quickly. You don't want to go from 1000 to 100000 in one step. I would say good odds in getting in during weeks 2 to 7.

At some point they are going to need to stress test the servers, and 1000 are not nearly enough to do that. Granted, Open Beta is usually a stress test, but it's usually never a bad idea to do a Closed Beta stress test to make sure Open Beta goes smooth. (Because, typically, Open Beta players are a bunch of whiners about every little nitpicky thing)
