They've been releasing light, med, hev, assault the whol time.
Flea was disclosed before the hioghlander because they wanted to use the Highlander for a magazine story, doesn't mean it will be released as a playable mech later however (and I doubt it will)
In other worlds stop crying.

The problem is the shear speed that lights can close to contact and capture you in the circle of death. Once in the circle you are doomed because the Mech universe has never developed a form of countermeasure system for this problem. Is it only me that can see how useful a variation on the AMS CIWS system would be if it could fire downwards?
So the answer would have been the Flea, something that is a lot faster than any other light Mech; something that could capture a Jenner in the circle of death; in short, payback.
The problem is that I have been told that top speeds are capped in MWO. This means that the Flea would loose its only advantage before it even set foot on the battlefield. For this reason and this reason alone, I feel that it is now pointless.
So my alternative Mech. After creating the Siege Mech poll on Suggestions to promote the idea of a new super heavy class of Mech above 100 tons, it came to light that this had already been done in the distant past of the MW universe. Some one put a few links in that took me to the images of something that I dearly want. Its called the Omega.
waoo this?
i want it i dont care if its walks 20 km/h XD

Engines increase in weight exponentially as engine rating increases so there are speeds (200 kph+ with an XL) where the flea can carry more equipment than any other mech. Good luck hitting a mech moving that fast reliably. So, if they fix the net code completely and uncap maximum speed, the flea will have a point, otherwise you're correct that it will be the weakest mech on the battlefield.

They don't implement mechs into the game based off announcement. They base it off a tonnage class. Specifically this:
Light -> Medium -> Heavy -> Assault
proof? last few mech releases:
Awesome -> Raven -> Cicada -> Cataphract -> Stalker -> Flea -> Trebuchet
Seriously.

I could really give two craps about new mechs, give me the new features. Well, ok I give a crap about the Clan mechs that are sort of needed to make Clans meaningful.

Maybe, maybe not.
I suspect that most of the work for a new mech is from the graphics department. There will be a fair amount of work for the art department in creating CW. House skins, house doodads (flags, cockpit items etc), galaxy map, new UI.
The people creating new mechs certainly would be the same ones required to work on the Clan mechs, and those are pretty much a must for any Clan content. No less than 8 Clan mechs at release.

You're forgetting the recent buffnerf that Jumpjets got. 1.75 seconds of flight time for free. Popcorning cataphracts? Remember? Now imagine popcorning 90-ton assaults.
That explains the jumping phract that took forever to kill the other day! A hunchback and I shot at him for practically the whole match. Somehow our team still won without us...
Oh, and to stay on topic. I want to see King Crab, because, you know...King Crab!
