Well to reference the pic that I posted, it was luna shouting saying CAPS LOCK, i then said at the bottom saying Don't you hate when THAT HAPPENS. to be funny, though the humor was lost when the pic failed, I forget sometimes that they dont work from that location so what are you gonna do.

All around looks great except first, there's some artifacts on the left edge of the left eye (upon close inspection it's actually a pixelated edge along the whites of his eye) and second the combination of red, purple, and green kinda throws me off color combination-wise, if you know what I mean? But if you like it, that's fine! anyway, keep up the good work!

to tell you the truth, that's just how my GF wanted her to look, originally I thought about a light brown mane, and probably almost white body, but she wanted her to be red/orange/pink, and the mane to be pink which looked even worse...
That said, I suppose she wanted her to look funny to begin with...
about the eye, I'm not quite sure how else to deal with it...
Some of the references I used do it the way I did, others don't have it at all, especially if the pony looks that way and that edge is defined by iris and pupil. In this case leaving it away would have meant that the eye flows into the originally white background, and a black or thicker line looked horribly out of place... Any ideas?

JFYI, this is the visual style I'd wanna go for in the end...


Of course, not trying to copy there, just a little less cartoony than the original art of the show...
Maybe a little more cartoony on the background than the image above, to match the ponies in the foreground better.
Just my oppinion though, the pic's still nice! ^^

actually, there was "Friendship" written in the foreground on the one I found originally, but it was easy enough finding the original without it...

Ah! sorry, I'm not a very clear writer! The red edge looks fine, I think! I meant that the actual white edge of the eye is pixely. Whereas the eye on the right has a nice smooth transition from white to red, the eye on the left has a jagged white pixely transition to red. Am I making sense?

I see what you mean, and I think I know what the problem is...
That red line is actually only a few pixels wide, the anti-aliasing is weak with this one!
I should probably work with a higher resolution for these pics, that one is actually "only" 1024x1024...
I'm considering to work with 2048x2048 from now, considering the actual char will only take up a fraction of it anyway, I could see that causing issues when I have to scale it down though.

Ah, I'm fairly new to this anyway, so I'll simply have to experiment a bit
