I'm talking about "mitigating empty ammo bins" by instant reloads from a MFB, rather than just dumping ammo (which was more damage control, and could be done in seconds anyway without an MFB.)

Seems like I'm hot-dropping into a friendly LZ then. :D Seemed that you were against dumping ammo, though posting at work sometimes has me just skimming posts.

No repair during battle, especially not for components and internal structure. I guess I'm okey for with other auxiliary base functions though, but ammo replenish should take a while (30-60secs/ton maybe).

Other than that, I'd love to see number of auxiliary vehicles, like the Mobile HQ, which could provide bonuses to communications, early warning, off board artillery/air strikes and the like while they are alive.

The "tank tracked" MFB's might be a game killer, unless they were extremely limited in function.
e.g. only replace a portion of ammo and/or very minor armor repair, to 1 or 2 weapon systems/torso armor, twice a game, at best,
And to further balance it from over usage, charge a "premium" on map C-Bill fee to people who use their services, greatly reducing the reward at the end of the game.

Maybe when they turn MW into an MMO. Each unit has it own base where they can upgrade w/ AA guns, radar, repair stations and ect.. One can only think of the possibilities.

When does that happen? I figured we'd get some more mechs, maps, and maybe game modes if we're lucky. Maybe even see a dropship or tanks or something like that. Turning it into a full MMO doesn't seem like it is in the cards unless the game receives a totally overwhelming and unprecedented response.

Don't get me wrong I hope it does well, and they add as much as they can - and the idea of a MechWarrior MMO (where you could get out of the mech and stroll around New Avalon bars, Solaris Arenas, and Luthien Factories would be epic and cool, but I have to doubt that we will see that any time soon.)

Sure I am for mobile bases, if you yourself stock it up and risk losing everything in there. Also if using it means sitting pretty for at least 5-8 minutes of the game or more depending on your damage without being able to do anything while your mech is "worked on". Then I got no problem with it.

I think an MFB might be workable if it were a top level unlock for the command tree, took a fair bit of time for the rearm / rearmor to take place, required the mech receiving aid to be completely shut down for the duration, and were only usable like one time per match.

MFB's? No f-ing way.

Being able to repair, or worse refit, your 'Mech mid-fight would completely derail the point of the whole game. We are supposed to have banged up 'Mechs and require salvage to upgrade or sell for the credits. Even House units were concerned with salvage, often taking a 'leg 'em and leave 'em' approach to combat unless otherwise ordered to so enemy 'Mechs could be salvaged.

Now, I'll grant you that in some engagements [like the 4th Succession War's Capellan Front or the 2nd SoL vs Kell Hounds] it was deliberate cockpit shots or fusion core kills because of mutual animosity, but by the 31st Century 'Mech combat had been almost civilized. As a rule, 'Warriors didn't go for cockpit kills on enemy pilots, families could ransom their captured 'Mech to avoid becoming Dispossessed, captured pilots were treated as fellow military 'gentlemen' etc. Rather like medieval jousting, really. Later on, after the 4th War's devastation that kind of chivalry became less and less common and the Clan Invasion essentially put a stop to it, but as we players begin the game it is still part of MechWarrior culture.

Sociologically speaking, the Inner Sphere is about where Europe was in 1939, just before the German and Japanese attacked. What I mean by that is that warfare as a 'gentlemen's duel writ large' was just about dead and warfare as a victory or national destruction calamity was just over the horizon.

as said, MFB's are made for singleplayer the way they worked. In multi it would just lead to camping and other worse things. I hope no respawn is already in btw. When you get into a battle, you should not jump in , get a few shots at the enemy, die and simply respawn to do the same. Simply use what you bring into battle and if you get beaten, game over for that round for you, that's why we always played no respawn matches.
Also a good point against it is annihilate ingame money.
In a f2p game there needs to be some mechanics that get away ingame money, just like repair costs etc, otherwise all players get rich fast and that's not good.
With the current (of course small) information given, i can already see some scenarios to build up ingame credits, we'll see what will come.
