What I really liked about MW 4 (which I played the most), was the feeling of travelling to waypoints, getting into battles and acheiving objectives.
MWO should have some enormous maps. Skirmishes might not be 10 v 10 battles as is usually the case currently, but rather:
2 light scout groups encounter eachother at waypoint A and duke it out. After *a while* a couple of mediums show up and tip the scales, but the outmatched lights see them coming and run for the hills before the mediums get into short range, yielding the objective (cap points, or maybe other bonuses).. Meanwhile at waypoints B and C, other encounters are taking place. The lights have moved on to other objectives, strike and disappear!
If Catapults are on a ridgeline laying LRM fire onto a battle, a flanking manouver could take them out of effectiveness. This is difficult if the flanking manouver is only 400m away and there is no territory behind the ridge..
Travelling across the map is an awesome part of piloting a mech. Either moving to cap an objective, gaining a tactical position or responding to a distress call..
HUGE MAPS! GO!
