Just wanted some clarification on heat efficiency.
When I add heat generating weapons, the efficiency goes down, which I assume is telling me that if I fire all my weapons, I will overheat faster.
So if I take 2 ML as backup weapons, but don't plan to use them until I loose my arms, will I still overheat faster even if I don't fire them, or will it act the same as though I don't have them?

Heat efficiency factors all of your weapons. If you are planning to "Not Use" some of your weapons, then your effective heat efficiency is different then what the system shows.
I have a couple of mech builds that include some long range weapons and some short range weapons. I never fire both sets together (or even near to together), so I have gone to the lab and built the mech with each set alone to see what my heat efficiency is with each set.
Does that make sense?

Heat efficiency is rated off alpha strikes too. It is how many alphas it takes to overheat.

Only weapons you fire generate heat.
