My understanding on this needs some work. Could someone please

1) Explain the function of the "Enable C3 VOIP" option in the options menu.
2) Link to instructions for getting C3 working. I thought it's supposed to put you into a group/channel automatically when you connect to a game, but nothing ever happens.

well in answer to question 2 C3 does not added everyone on the same team to a channel all it does is put people in the same premade who are actually using C3 in a channel. Not very useful I say give players the option of joining C3 voice chat from the new pre-match screen.

C3 does absolutely nothing.
That option was supposed to launch C3 if installed and put all members of a MWO Social group in the same voice channel automatically, yes, but it's not capable of doing this in the current version of the MWO Client.

Perhaps this will be corrected in the future, though there have been no new developer announcements concerned with C3 for quite a long time, now, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
It's unfortunate, still.

i do use C3 there a nice niche of player there (mostly founder).. call Clan Gunn, we are about 50 players
just open C3 go in the channel tab and then the search tab and search for "clan gunn", pop in, set your mic to push to talk and play with us.

seriously I don't know why people don't use it, its so easy to config and use.

Can you help me to learn how to use C3 with MWO ?

PS: Your channels are protected with a Password, so I wasnt able to join them !

In game communications are disrupted by ECM, 3rd-party software (Teamspeak, Ventrilo) is not.
As C3 isnt a in-game-communication, but a 3rd Party Software like TS, Ventrilo or mumble, it is not affected by ECM !

What you are talking about is the in-game Equipment "C3", which shares its name with the 3rd Party voice Chat "c3", but this isnt available until after the Clans attacked anyway ...

...In 600 games, i've been up against only like two premades that I know of...

Just playing 10 games yesterday, I've been up against 4 easily identifiable 4-men premade groups (that greeted us in /all chat when the game started, no less), and there were 2 other premade groups that played on my side.

that is a good thing. The more, the merrie. When i have premades on either team i get a better game.

The answer to your complaint is to use something like Teamspeak and get on the servers that are for this game. This will allow you to get a scratch group together, communicate with each other, and maybe if you can actually pilot your mech, WIN. This has been done a lot and these scratch units have even beat premades. Now SHUT UP!

The game really does need integrated voice comms.
