Q: Have you considered adding cracks to the windshield and/or sparks in the cockpit when you receive damage to the head? What about bad weather effecting windshield, such as rain or snow? [Maverick01]

A: Yes, we have plans similar to this already in the works. [Garth]

im pretty sure there was also an "upcoming patch note" saying the patch would include cockpit damage fx. i think it was before phase 2.

Randomization of the damage would be nice... Nothing that truly messes with aim, but seeing the same damage over, and over, and over... and over... ad nauseum...

I'm all for cracks in the corners of the windows, or a burn scar or two across the sides. But there needs to be enough variety in them that they aren't just one more thing that gets ignored.

Now knocking loose the some of the Christmas lights so that a section hangs down and dangles, or busting the heck out of your bobblehead Urbie due to cockpit damage... that would be interesting as well.

I believe PGI is trying to implement DX11 as well as optimizations before adding in any additional effects. It's probably a good idea to try and get as many FPS out of each computer first , before adding in FPS robbing features.

That being said, heat waves , flickering HUDs, rain, arching and sparking, cracked cockpit windows would all be very cool and immersive.

Cheers.

They already implemented sparks. Freelook in your cockpit when your arms get shot off.

I don't care what cannon says (in this case), if those were really see-through windows every mech would come with a paint gun to blind mechs with.

It's rather far down on the list of priorities.
