Inspired by the recent ISN post regarding the supposed dalliances of long-ago First Prince Richard Davion:

Who are the most popular (from any point in the BattleTech/Mechwarrior timeline) First Princes (women who are the FedSuns' head-of-state are still titled "First Prince", being the First Prince is included with being an "Archon-Prince", and both the "Prime Ministers of New Avalon" and the "Presidents of the Federated Suns" are being included under the heading despite actually predating the use of the "First Prince" title) among MWO's players, and for what reasons?

Who are the least popular, or even outright most despised, First Princes (again, from any point in the BattleTech/Mechwarrior timeline) among MWO's players, and for what reasons?

There is, however, a difference between being a Davion-loyalist and a FedSuns-loyalist.
However, it is true that the two generally go hand-in-hand.
And, of course, one of the many great things about the Suns is the freedom to both make the distinction and to be able to openly discuss it - unlike, say, in the leader-deifying Combine or Confederation. :)

That being said, some Princes were better than others - certainly, Lucien Davion (the first leader of the Federated Suns as a unified nation, even though he was a "President" rather than a "Prince"), Alexander Davion (kept the Suns united and strong during the Age of War and early Star League years), Michael Davion (dedicated to peacemaking and the preservation/recovery of technology during the Succession Wars), and (of course) the Fox deserve special mention, yes?

By contrast, the hot-headed Carl Davion and Joseph Davion II may have been great warriors but not-so-great First Princes, no?

There's also a difference between being a Davion-loyalist and a Capellan or Liao-loyalist (or the Kuritans for that matter). As a Davion-loyalist we can be objective and think for ourselves. We don't white-wash history or glaze over the less then proud moments of our Federated Suns. We simply strive to do better and hope for the best of our Davion First Princes.

Which is exactly why I support House Davion and the Federated Suns. We've got more inherent rights and personal freedom.

Basically I support all the "First Princes" thou my favorite out of them all was First Prince Victor Steiner-Davion cause all the hardships he endured as well as his willingness to fight beside the troops he led. He by far shows the best qualities a true leader should have. I am also a Federated Suns Loyalist because the freedoms and History from the USA in witch im from. As well i like New Avalon and a few other Fed Sun planets like Shawnee and the like,

To be a successful First Prince, you have to be a tactician and a politician to keep an interstellar empire together. No one did this better than Hanse. He came very close to uniting the entire Inner Sphere. Had it not been for the Clan Invasion throwing everything out of whack, he might have came closer to succeeding.

As for the worst, I'd have to say it would be Caleb Davion. Caleb was insane and did some deplorable things as well, including ****** the woman that saved his life and killing his father. Since the lore is being somewhat redone for that time period, I'm not sure how canon this will remain.

Victor Steiner-Davion isn't as great as some make him out to be. He's arguably a better MechWarrior than his father. But that's about it. As for being a strategic genius and a Political mastermind he falls kinda short. Doubling Mark's son was a deplorable thing, he should have just manned up when Joshua passed away, that is something his father probably would have done. Screw your enemies, but not your friends. In addition he annihilated a clan but lost half his realm in the process . well actually all of it.

The Fox was just an excellent politician and a good MechWarrior
