Does Anyone Else Feel The Mechtree Is Broken?

My confusion is that a Mech of what ever Type/Frame, Lets say a Catapult Will always be a Catapult and always Run as a Catapult, will Walk like a Cat, always turn like a cat, and always die like a cat. So no matter what varient I get in my abilty to piolet a Catapult is the Same or growing
So if i spent 10,000 hours pioleting a Catapult i don't loose 10,000 hours of ex pioleting a Catapult just because i changed the weapons on it (which is pretty much the diffrence in the varients
Thats like me being called a Master Plumber with Copper but as soon as they gave me PVC or PVA I forgot how to plumb a house.. Or a Master Carpenter who uses a hammer forgot how to frame something because they gave him a nail gun????
If i changed Varients from Pure IS to a hybrid mix, I could understand a slight change but a CPLT-XX and a CPLT-XX and a CPLT-XX takes the same pioleting EXP
So why do we spend 70 hour x 3 in the same Frame to get skills we all ready have?
Further more if you have all ready spent 210 hours in a Heavy Frame, Switching from one heavy frame to another shouldn't Put your EXP. back to ground Zero.. A 65 ton brick and a 70 ton brick kind of move the same, one is just slightly heavier and should move just a bit slower.
Secondly, if the True difference between the Varients is the Hard point Weaponry, why isnt there a Gunnery Lab??
These two things seem to be muddeled into one thing, and that one thing seems to be an overly annoying grinding of the same thing only to call yourself a MASTER of a thing Thing You have all ready mastered??? and there is no sence of true progression..
I could understand being an ELITE HEAVY piolet if i mastered every frame in the class..
and I mastered the how to use everything from Machine guns to PPCS.
But having someone go back to kindergarden after graduating college just because they changed from pencils to pens is crazy...
A True Mechwarrior piolet should be able to gain EXP, keep EXP, and Progressivly gain Exp towards the next Thing. And a split in EXP per round between Pioleting Exp, and Gunnery EXP durring a round would be a natural progression of things. And the Abilty to deal a slight but more damage based on Gunnery EXP. Or move Slightly faster Based on EXP. Is also a natural progression. And gaining more Exp if you moved up from a Light Mech to Heavy Mech Also seems logical, as well as more Exp gained from the More mechs mastered

SMASH SMASH SUH-MASH!
Just because they haven't touched on it in a year doesn't mean it's not being developed. They have been busy steering rivers of tears.

Personally it took me one week to master my 3 stalkers..im not really good and i dont play that much.
I think it a good thing..it makes you try different chassis. ..my stalker have few differences but once mastered i aknoledge them ( 3h 3h and 5m so ppc boat, lrm boat, srm boat [atlas killer] )
But the differences are easier to spots on dragon's atlases or hunchback chassis.

Since you guys seem skeptical, in the Feb 5th patch, (Undocumented MAJOR back end work) the game got a new light/shader engine, SLI and Xfire support, along with major new GPU optimization. My GPU runs about 15(c) cooler now, with overall more smoother performance.
They are still building up the game itself, and they are getting close to making the full (non-glitchy) jump to DirectX11. Content will come in trooves when the game is done being built.

Uh...no bro.
Paul invalidated most of that post months ago on the CBT teamspeak. A lot of things were scrapped and being redeveloped.

F1 drivers are so good that they only turn up to races and never practice to optimize that last couple of percent.

^^ was there for that.
I will be honest, I in no way like the way they are doing the pilot system. to be honest it is a joke. I would have preferred a more "role" oriented pilot system. but that is not going to happen. even the modules that were suppose to help define a role are not there. to the guys at piranha, I do love you guys, you do listen to about 80% of what your playerbase has to say. All I have to say is bring back the role warfare that you told us you were going to do, that is all i ask. If you can't do that then say so. take that post down and rewrite one that shows the current state of the pilot skill table. I am sure that you have an intern running over there that would be happy to help.
