But I was thinking of going triple AC2s. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thinking something like.... http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a70c575fe95869e

It would obviously be more of a "joke" build, and I hate having anything less than a 250 engine in my Hunchbacks, but I was thinking it could provide some long range suppressive fire and be a good Assault Mech buddy.

3 Heat-per-second/shot from x3 AC/2 alone. Assault mechs will greatly prefer a teammate carrying an AC/20 or UAC/5.

Get a Cataphract/Jagermech for AC/-boating, they have the tonnage for it.

I've had great success with this exact build. Poke your hunch out form a corner and spray them with a gauss. Hose down whatever gets too close with med pulses.

I had a very similar fit. I'd never get more than 150 damage per match but it made everyone under my sights run for cover becuse of the shake up and the 'OSHI I'm being SHOT' factor

Indeed... hence why I considered this a "joke" build. I have my other optimized Hunchbacks for when I want to play seriously.
But as we saw from the 6 PPC Stalker "joke" build, sometimes they could actually prove effective in certain situations. :(

Which is why I was wondering if anyone had experience with a triple AC2 setup.

I've tried building a 4G with two UAC5s, but could never come up with anything useful.
I love the dual UAC5s on my Atlas DDC... but my Atlas has other major backup weapons for when the UAC5s jam, and the Hunchback 4G would not. Thus I can't imagine the frustration of relying solely on the UAC5s.

Been hit by it, if the shake isn't enough to scare the 6 DPS will be. AC/2 is a firehose of damage and heat.

If you can manage the heat it's worth using, though using x2 AC/2 leaves more room for heatsinks.

Ya, if you are going to buy something, then the G is not really the choice. I actually think the most versatile Hunches are the J and H. You can make almost any build with them. The P, while ok, is really tough to make use of all 9 energy points, so you can just use the 6 laser variant.

I love the G, because its my founders, but its really kind of a mess, and currently one of the weaker Mediums, little lone the weakest Hunchback.

I bought a 4G just to lvl up my 4SP. I figured I would sell it once I unlocked the basics, but I had so much fun with it, I kept it. Just last night I got off a sweeeeet kill shot, 250m on a fast moving 3L. Yeah, the AC/20 can be tought to get a feel for, but it it sooo much fun.

This is pretty close to my current build (I'm at work and can't check it). Note Endo, DHS and a 245 motor. Also note how I spread the armour in the big hunch. The back is a pretty small area, but the front is huge. I've found that you can keep the gun around a lot longer with more on the front.

I seriously dont know what you guys are talking about. I love it with the AC/20. After some upgrades I go 2 ML, 1 LL and the AC/20. I dont have any issues.

I have also run it with 1 LBX10 and 2 LL. Also nothing but 2 LBX10s just for fun, wasnt bad though. I wish the LBX10 did something more notable for its EXTREME price (800K)

Hopefully sometime soon they will implement the ability to switch between solid and scatter shot, making this a much more versatile weapon.

4g needs some serious love.

The only thing it has going for it over the 4h are the extra ballistic slots - and you guessed it, those are worthless - most of the time you're going to be running a single ballistic due to tonnage restrictions.

If machine guns weren't garbage it *might* be worth using but that's a big *might*.

Double AC5/UAC5/whatever builds just don't work very well.

I generally do pretty okay with the stock weapons loadout. I upgrade to a 260 standard engine, add DHS, Endo, and FF, with an extra ton of AC20 ammo and the legs stripped to 31 each. It's a good Atlas buddy, and its speed lets it flank pretty decently. It's not the best variant (4SP), but it's not useless.

Went back to basics tonight and quit screwing around with all my Hunchs.

Went back to my LBX10/3Mlas 4G. Performed very solidly. Its not SP, but it is solid as a close range brawler and is very heat efficient.

After several matches with my 4G, SP and P, the 4G performed second best. I think that is more my love for it than that its a great platform though. I never really have liked the P, but went back to the basic 9Mlas build and had decent success.

I still see no reason to buy a 4G if you are deciding on a Hunch. Its my favorite, but its not because its the best.

3 AC/2, 3 ML build (have to use XL engine) is great, and I have had a lot of success.

Definitely not for the weak of heart. I thought it was crazy when someone in another thread suggested it, but it does work well. You can have really great DPS with good range. It is perfect for punishing assaults from a safe distance and taking out. Also, as others have mentioned it is good for supression fire. At 12 DPS you can strip the armor from an Atlas side torso in 5-6 seconds.

The other side of the coin is you can't always find a good position to shoot from. Also, if the enemy team decides to focus on you, having an XL engine in your massive side torso is a good way to die a quick and painful death.

Thankfully, as a medium, you are usually a lower priority. Just don't get caught out in the open without any friends nearby.

It's not an easy mech to play, but when done right it can be very good.

All in all, I would say 80% of the matches I enter with my 4G I am in top 4 of my team, the other 20% I got killed early and died probably only doing about 150 - 200 damage.
