No kidding. Just ask Bruce Banner.

I'm quoting this so we all get to see it more times while we scroll.

I have very limited booze left and it's my day off and i wanted to get drunk and play. Now I have to wait to play AND TO DRINK.

I know the problem and when the servers are back up you are totally drunk and are more likely to shoot your own arm off.....

All time is linear on Earth.....so 1 hour here is 1 hour anywhere on the Earth. The only difference is the number you reference based on time zones. So if your too stupid to add 1 hour and 30 minutes to a clock I feel sorry for you.

If you really did move to the moon, the time zones might work out better, but even the moon has 24 time zones. I hereby apologize for the ignorant portion of the human race that believes in one time zone, cheap ****** on the internet, Nigerian princes and the world owing them a living. The other 70% of the human race are rather tired of supporting them.

Garth, you weren't really supposed to take the servers outside and hose them down to clean them.. :(

Silly. He doesn't do stuff like that. Everyone knows Garth sent the servers to get dry cleaned :P

Time isn't linear all across Earth. People at higher elevations are moving faster than those at lower elevations, and these effects are magnified as you approach the equator; this is due to the Earth's Rotation, and an object further from the axis of rotation on a rotating body is moving faster than an object that's closer to the center.

(edit - I guess I have to mention that people moving faster experience time more slowly yaddayadda...)

Oh oh oh.

I can solve that.

That makes 1 clock 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I'm not elitist at all, I'm just annoyed that game devs fairly consistently dump the maintenance time in...
EU TIME!

Put it in US prime time for a change, mix it up, the EU is a very large demographic as well.

I'm really inclined to - actually, **** it. Stop being an elitist **** thinking the US is the victim of my comment. The US has always been thought of as the major demographic, and sometimes that's unfair. I'm not saying "always screw over the americans", I'm just saying "try not to be like SOE and always screw over the europeans". You just had to reply with an insult, though, didn't you?

To actually answer the time question instead of trolling back and forth, Pacific time (which applies to PGI and their Canadian servers) is GMT -8hrs (that's Greenwich Mean Time). So, if you can use the internet long enough to figure out what YOUR time zone is (ie: East coast of the US is GMT -5hrs) then you just do some fairly basic math from there. 1pm PST would be 4pm for all those on the East coast of the US...how you've used the internet for more than a week and not figured out how to do this is beyond me...

So, could we please get a response about whether our premium time is being counted down while we are unable to play?

Lol. That one was new to me. The next Jenner I get I will ask for an "angered" button to be added to it that turns it into a green Atlas.

I had to reply with an insult because you are obviously unaware of, ignorant of, or disregarding some very common knowledge.

One. The world is round. This means a lot because humanity has adapted to this via time zones.

Two. Server maintenance has to happen at some point. Because the Earth is not flat, that means that has to happen during some one's "prime time".

Three. PGI lives and works in the NA Pacific time zone. This means their office hours are what you would see as your main play time.

Four. You are not so special that just by whining alone that you can have the world revolve around you. Your ego allows you to think this or you would not have posted here to whine.

In the end. I'm sorry your daddy didn't get you that pony, mate - but don't inflict your tears on us, ok?

Well, they could start at 7 or 8, then the servers would be back up for prime time EU. Ok, prime time Afghanistan would be messed up with that, but i guess there are more customers in Europe. But we have too little info, but PGI should have statistics were the most customers come from and then perhaps try to not bring the servers down during times were many of these customers play. Prime time Vanuatu could be a better time for patching/maintenance, too, but could be related with burning the midnight oil. Or you just start work a little late on that day and everything's fine.

And despite regular office ours: if you sell a product worldwide you have to consider your customers worldwide and this could mean different working times then in an usual office.

Except we use mechanical devices to measure time so regardless of relativity it still counts 1 hour no matter how fast or far you spin. Were speaking in terms of a block of work set to span 4 hours. So no matter where you are all you have to do is add that time to your time to get the answer.

I was trying, for the sake of simplicity, to ignore the existence of daylight savings :(
