The default loadouts are almost unplayably hot currently. I have found that I basically MUST put double heatsinks in each and every mech I play in order for them to be viable. With single heatsinks you simply cannot attain a usable rate of fire, and thus almost every single base loadout is useless. Playing with single heatsinks is just a massive shutdown fest.

This means that new players get a horrible initial experience, with all the trial mechs they get to play suffering massive shutdowns while they sit there and wonder why everyone else seems to be able to fire so much more than them. This in turn drives them away from the game.

The issue is the fact that heatsink dissipation was changed from TT, but the mech configurations, weight per heatsink, etc. were left the same. TT builds are simply not viable the way the game currently works, and trying to shoehorn them in just makes for a bad experience for anyone who is either playing a trial mech to try a new chassis, has just bought a chassis and has not had a chance to upgrade it to fix the issues, or who is new and has no chassis of their own.
