While we've been testing through these past 6 months or better many calls have come out for different modes of battle. Many of which have been borrowed from other games and the majority of them being pretty good ideas. So here is my contribution to the mix.
Several of the MW novels have a story line where Successor State Princes are being hunted by opponents and they of course are trying to avoid capture. Victor Davion on Alynia, Hohiro Kurita and Prince Ragnar to name three. Let's use that premise as a basis for a new mode.
We are getting larger maps in upcoming patches. Let's put them to use. The new mode would be a 12 v 12 match with a twist. One side attacking who's mission is to take down and capture a target mech on the other team.
The defending team would have to protect the, for lack of a better term, king mech.
To flesh this out the king mech would be mobile, heavily armored but not armed so he'd have to rely on his lance mates for protection.
There is much that would need fleshing out but I think the basic premise would make for interesting tactile options. Attackers would want scout mechs ranging far to cover areas while their strike lances would work to deny the target to escape.
The defenders could split forces to harass the attackers or to mislead them.
And to give the defence an edge have the game timer be fairly short so that the attackers wouldn't have the option of killing the defenders a mech at a time.

I like it. Maybe give each team a chance to attack/defend.

Thinking about it more, put the target into a Stock Charger. A scout Assault mech with a big engine, good armor and popgun lasers. He would travel with his own lance while the other two work as a screen/ defence.

I think an even better way of doing this would be to steal the "Hostage rescue" scenario from Counter Strike. In other words, Team A has to attack Team B and either kill them all or bring the "Hostage" back to their base. Both teams get a penalty for attacking the "Hostage", so that is never a good strategy.
I don't like any battle mode that involves giving individual players a role that is crucial to winning the battle. It's too tricky in terms of AFKers, DCers and trolls.

NPC vehicle would have to be the target (mech, truck, whatever). Anything else becomes too susceptible to player exploits and game code reliability.

VIP mode and capture the flag (data core?) mode have been suggested frequently... my suggestion to you is to post this thread in the Suggestions section of the forum as it will have a higher chance of being read by the devs

"Capture the Mech".... Isn't that what happens when you're the last one left on your team, and you're in a Commando?

I want to second this. It's basically like "defend VIP" from counter strike (as other's have posted) and it's an awesome suggestion. Add "Assault/defend" and a few more play stiles, would greatly increase the fun of this game.
