...the typical deployment would be a team consisting of:

5 med/heavy mechs
2 lights
1 assault

- closer to mechlore, and I would argue, more fun to play. Granted Pirahanna has to take into account the types of mechs players have chosen to launch, but there are far too many assaults seen on the battlefield, imho. It is not uncommon to get teams of 4+ assaults. How often did this occur in the Mechwarrior universe battlefield? - not often at all. Not saying that all matches should be as above (indeed, variation is fun too), only that this would make a bit more lore friendly and representative of the mechwarrior universe and would change the dynamics of the matches (and imho, adding more fun to the mix).

I think a lot of players are used to previouse Mechwarrior games where you start in a weak mech with the goal of piloting a 100 ton assault mech as an end game. New players especially are under the impression that bigger is better, and more weapons are better.I personally find assaults difficult to utilize properly because of their lower speed, placement is very important. A lighter unit with more maneuverability would be much easier to have success with. I remember the good old days of closed beta when mixed 8 man teams were the norm. Hopefully MWO will return to those days as more content is introduced.
