My Mech had a mind of its own. I had no map, was unable to turn, had no control over my movements or weapons. It just took off in a straight line blasting away. The teammate in front of me was as amused as I was as I hit him with all my lasers.

Hmm. You have a few very good points there which players could test to see if this bug can be replicated. Thank you for the incredibly informative post with which you enlightened the rest of the users.

Now for soemthing completely different;
Nope. I havent ever seen a bug like this before. Coudl it be that you were tabbed out of the screen while holding the W key (would account for the moving forward bit) and you could therefore not control your mech? In Windowed mode you can still see the game, but you cant interact with it as long is it is not the primary window.

As for shooting your teammate... It sounds as if the above happened and you pressed the left mouse button in the screen which not only selects the game as primary window (making it active for commands again), but also fires of weapon group 1.

He's right, this is in the wrong forum, but, after that, you are probably correct on what his "bug" is. It's actually very common to hear this from new players who play in windowed mode (our just be to windowed mode).
