Awww come on guys, I've really liked the Eridani Light Horse since I first started playing battletech in the 80s.

I mean...seriously, it's a girl's cartoon why are you guys even doing this to one of my favourite mercenary units.
When will the My Litte Pony meme trolls stop this.

A few things.

Firstly, apologies to Happy's post. He gets cranky when he doesn't get his way, but I gave him his rattle back and he seems content playing in the playpen. Had to put him in timeout earlier.

Second, he is correct in that we do not associate ourselves with the ELH at all. We are not some "spinoff" or "lost unit" or whatever the heck stupid things people make up to justify why they and they alone represent some unit. Our name and logo are a parody of it. That's it.

Third, I do believe you're saying things without knowing what they mean (funny how many people do that.) I could go into a longwinded conversation defending the show, showing how it applies to real life, philosophical debates based on it, etc., but this is not the place for it and I wouldn't be surprised if you never visited this thread again. We are not "meme trolls" (the heck is a meme troll?) Happy and I started this group because we loved Battletech/Mechwarrior first and ponies second (and because Happy was drunk at the time.) We are not trolling anything, we're dead serious (serious enough to reach over 20,000 posts on our forum.) As such, there's nothing to stop. We're going strong, we're constantly growing, and we have a super-active community (as evidenced by the above) before the game has even launched. The only thing expected to change after launch is that we grow even more and become more active.

Our members are a mix from those who are veterans of the tabletop from over 20 years ago, to those who haven't even played a Mechwarrior game yet. Some of us are the earliest fans of MLP, some of us just watched the show 2 weeks ago, and heck one isn't even a fan of ponies but is around to play with his friends because we're such a neat group. So, no, we're not trolls, we're not just promoting some kind of meme, and we're not going anywhere anytime soon. All are welcome to apply. We're concerned primarily with how well your personality meshes with our group more than what your favorite pony is or the fact that you're a horrible person for using that build with 10 machine guns.

Thanks for posting though! Gave me an opportunity to bash Happyspawn and make a recruitment spiel. Win-win in my book.

I have to admit, I'm also a fan of the Light Horse, but that's one of the reasons I looked at this post "Light Pony? Dafuq?"

I read, I laughed, and you know what? compared to alot of the MW:O Groups you have to admit these guys are having fun. Too much seriousness Lighten up MW:O it's only a game. . .

Fun is good!

Same, maybe not The Wolf though I've never been much of a clanner (Freeborn and proud of it). I've played The Light Horse for way too many years in BT and MW3 and Pirates Moon will always be my favorites because of the Light Horse . . Also, they come out with lines like this. . .

My first experience with BattleTech was MechWarrior 2, so I'll always have a soft spot for the canister-born.

I was so happy that ELH was features in MW3, it's probably one of the reasons it's my favorite of the titles.

IMHO, MechWarrior 3 was the highlight of the MW series of games. . the construction tool allowed you to perfectly copy the stats of any Battlemech in the game (but not the looks unfortunatly)

Also. . . most Badass intro ever. .

I would contact you on your site but OH DARN, signing up requires filling out an application to your corp! Whoops, guess I can't. I GUESS I have no choice but to answer it here...

1) How do you plan on enforcing a "Cease and desist"? Just out of pure curiosity. Usually when you "demand" something there's consequences. Unfortunately for you, there's nothing you can do about it. Keep trying to take the "higher road" approach though. Maybe out there, someone really does believe it...
2) Multiple occasions to contact administration? Nope, sorry. Might want to get your PR department to stop lying to you (I mean, I know lying is kinda a thing you got going for your group, but seriously, you might wanna cut back on it.) Your guy registered on our forums and brought it up once. He was told maybe our thoughts would change after time had passed but it was best to leave it for then. To his credit, he did leave it be. However I'll go ahead and tell you you've done nothing to change our opinion, only strengthen it. Happy and myself are the only administration, and neither of us have received anything. Nice try though!
3) You can, frankly, take your love and tolerance and shove it where the sun don't shine. We are not "like minded" people at all. If we were, there would be one group and not two. The mere fact there are two groups shows differing priorities and personalities. Just because we happen to watch the same television show doesn't make us instant friends or in some "group". Again, to be frank: we see you as a stain and we want nothing to do with it.
4) Sorry, no false statements there! You have lied. You have blatantly stolen. You're on your... what. Third recruitment thread? And why? To hide the shame of constant mod edits/warnings and our message to you (heck, you even pretty much stole that idea and did the same here! I mean, really, be original for once. Just once.) Unlike you, I hold that message above me as a badge of honor. I'll proudly display it. "We are not associated with the ERG and have nothing to do with them." I say it loud and with pride. If you want a list of reasons, I could always provide one. I tried being diplomatic once, but now? Screw it.
